I like your story, but too many factions jump on board too easy. Rereading this story again and I want to share a few hopefully constructive criticisms. The scene with the Quarians felt out of character for the leaders of the home fleet. They validated your opinion of the council immediately, jumped right on board with your plans, and thanked you for the deal without any negotiation. I don't know of any leaders that would act the way you wrote them. The same with Aria. A ruthless crime lord and you wrote her as dropping all her walls and being more vulnerable than she has ever been portrayed with only a few written lines of dialogue to achieve this? A bit of a stretch. I hope you come back later to tweak some chapters. Always happy to have more written word to pour over.

I cant believe I'm a fifth of the way through this story and nothing has happened yet. Its all just been a recap of everything Mass Effect fans already know. Like you couldnt find a clever way to have Sam explain the trilogy without having us actually read the events of game most of us have already played dozens of times over? And the melding with Liara and no one makes a comment about how she was the sole Shadow Broker. Reading a sit down conversation as the SI tries to improve the MEverse is a slog. Time skip to the next important thing and slip the info in when he goes to use the new type of gun he and this group talked about. I feel like I'm reading someones homework assignment and the teacher said "Show your work for full credit".

While I do enjoy fics that put actual effort into the characters, you have to admit it's just satisfying to have someone whip out the power of counter guardians or Saiyan's and utterly curbstomp the Reaper. Especially after hearing one rant.

its rough to attempt to explain the premise of a SI in the first chapter. never goes well. its too much contrived explanation that tends to become immediately useless to the reader.
