Dark sand, part black and Red, ground type.
Sounds like a Sandile
On Vali animagus, she is definitely a fire type, and able to carry people.
i tempted to Say Talonflame, because flying fire, but i don't think that is the case, it was kind of implied that she didn't take flight when Gold and Green ride her.
probably not a pokemon she already has either...
I'm stumped, she already has pretty much all rideable fire types.
Maybe an Hisuian Arcanine? it would match with Balto and give solidity to their pack mentality, but not sure about being a Rock secondary, she is to fluid and free spirited for the pokemon manifestation of her core representing Rock.

Nice bit of evolving plot. The eggs are also a nice touch, even if Gio seem to have poked someone he really shouldn’t have.
Please tell me that Ash’s egg isn’t a Sandile of all Pokémon. I think Vali might flip if it was, especially if it turns out a Male with Moxie. Would that be considered as Gio trying an indirect murder/character assassination attempt on her brothers? Male-Moxie Sandile lines are considered really difficult to control, after all…Actually, aybe that’d be the idea. Give the two newbies a pair hard-to-control Pokémon, wait for said Pokémon to mess up big time, then try blackmail attempt #2. Be funny if the whole backfired on Gio though, then Vali swoop in like the protective Fire Dragon-Bird she is.

Was the Rocket attack actually staged by Giovani? Or were they a rogue operation?

Thank you for the chapter.
I've always had it my head that Vali's animagus was/is a Talonflame, only really for two reasons.
1) it's a fire type
2) it's also a flying type, and in the previous book it was pointed out that Vali really loves flying.

Ash and Gary along with their Pokémon, and Vali's Eowyn, fought and pretty much KO'd (knocked out) the Rockets that invaded the Poke center in their (the Rockets) attempt to steal Pokémon from there.
In the end they had help from Vali who made sure that the Rockets stayed secure for the police to pick them up later.
A question that I have is: What may happen to their Pokémon?

I notice you haven't named Vali's Absol yet. Knowing just a smidget more about LotR than the movies show, I'd name it Gandalf, as whenever one shows up, disaster is not far behind XD
