The 'cat and mouse' games between those two are so cute. He loves torturing and teasing her and seeing how she can get out of tricky situations. Adorable. Loved how she was busted reading a racy book and how she tried to get out of it.
PS, checking the grammar on this story did not take me away from writing. On the contrary it helped me get back into the TSOM world, while also being hugely entertained. So thank you.

I love your Georg and Mariaespecially how he just loves to torment her! The hi jinks in this chapter made me smile. I also love the naughty side of Maria … just reinforces the fact she’s not cut out for convent life.

Very funny chapter! I love how Maria was smug after changing the cover so she could read the racy novel without detection but the captain was onto her - not just because she put the cover on upside down - but mostly because of her flustered demeanour while reading it. Clever! I like that Maria and the captain both miss each other too and still pay close attention to each other when they’re pretending to be distant for propriety’s sake. And it’s sweet yet amusing that he uses provoking Maria as a way to spend a little bit of time with her. Very cute writing! You’re doing a fantastic job! I’m so amazed this is your first try at writing but hope you’ll continue for a long time to come :)

I laughed my head off when I first read this, that the Abbey should have Georg standing at the door as the ultimate test whether a woman should become a nun. I'm still laughing about it. I could imagine the captain could empty a few convents that way, haha. He might even be able to make Sister Berthe swoon, who knows...?
Hah! I like the introduction of Luca, the handsome, flirty Italian who has charmed both MAria and the children. That's likely to set the captain off like a bomb!

Oh Mama Mia! I had to laugh at “God’s sense of humour!” That’s a very appropriate way to put it. First, Maria thought she had it bad dealing with thoughts of the Captain, and now she has a sweet talking hunk of Italian Stallion. Lol. I’m hoping the children bring up meeting him at dinner and Georg starts to spin.

Sorry for how late I am with reading this.
I am absolutely loving this story of yours (congratulations on your first fic too!), the little glimpses you give of how their relationship is building and evolving is very true to the characters. I enjoy stories that give missing moments that we didn't get to see in the film (moments we didn't get to see it due to its rating anyway).
I also smiled when his dream made him think he should be more attentive towards Elsa instead of "some defiant slip of a girl, who only knew how to annoy him". Perfect!
Keep going, I am excited to see what you have for us next.

Great story! I like how your Maria so is open to every possibility because the Reverend Mother explained the reason she was sent to the von Trapp house…to experience all aspects of life outside the abbey before she can make an informed decision on whether she’s suitable to commit to being a nun. It’s so clever too how you seem to have set up Maria meeting Luca and then her reading the book which has a picture of a woman in a man’s arms with a pirate captain looking upset and jealous in the background. I’m guessing the plot of this story might just run along side that of the book but with Maria, Luca and the captain involved indtead :) Please update soon. I can’t wait to read more.

Ooh, I didn’t see that coming!
Firstly, I smile every time Maria stops to think about God’s sense of humour. I’m sure she never imagined Him putting all these handsome men between her and the Abbey as a final test - I’m sure she thought the children were going to be her biggest challenge!
So, now Maria is confronted with two very different situations - a secretive/forbidden flirting with the Captain vs the freedom to flirt with Luca (although, as I’m writing this, I’ve just realised - we know very little about him!). Anyway, I’m picturing the Captain losing his mind when the children tell him about the strange man talking to Maria when they get home!
