Great story. All Taylor needs now is to have a talk with Hagrid about what creatures are tiny and stay/become active during a Scottish winter. It is nice that you had a way for Taylor to contact her dad, but did she try to contact any of the Undersiders?

*turns corner to see the outside of Taylor's suite*
"...is that a legion of pixies with spears very conspicuously doing military drills outside Mrs. Potter's room"
*One of the pixies leans down and picks up a sign, pointing it at the would-be ambushers to reveal that it has "Feelin' lucky, punk?" written on it, while the pixie next to it makes a show of sharpening its spear.*
"You know what, on second thought, I just remembered I have homework to attend to."

*sigh* I really like how this shows how Dumbledore, for all his power and influence...is exactly the WRONG person to be leading the resistance against Voldemort. Ideally, yes, everyone would be arrested and anyone who was Imperiused would be safely restrained and returned home to their families after the war is over and good has won.
This is not an ideal world, and while I won't pretend that I really wish that that idealistic view was reality, when lethal rounds, whether metal or magic, are flying, you really don't have the luxury of assessing every enemy combatant before returning fire if you wish to get out alive.
