I know its a plot point to move the story along, but it is just odd to me that a military force like the leaf would restrict the strength of potential soldier by forcing them to use mission points to learn techniquesif anything i can see certain levels being restricted based on rank

Has it not occured to Takuma to ask either Maruboshi or Mikoto to help him learn the shadow clone jutsu? He has the proper foundations and chakra reserves for that & I don't see why either them could have any problems teaching him or atleast pointing him in the right direction. It would allow him to multiply his training speed as well as let him multitask which would be a huge boon considering his circumstances. He clearly has canon knowledge so there is no reason not to push learning the jutsu when he is aware of its uses as well as use his connections to ask for it.

He is getting overly focused on rank instead of power. He still has a long way to go skill and strength wise. Have him go through the ANBU thing for two weeks and the decline all offers politely and form a Genin team and train for the next Chunin exams. Have him do some serious physical training Might Guy style. It will both improve his raw physical ability and help with his chakra imbalance. Actually finish his combat style and flesh out his jutsu collection.

Alright!
It seems that Kameko has Takuma back. Looks like the bonds-of-war solidified their camaraderie. The fact Kameko stood up for Takuma against his old antagonist bully, Hiji Inuzuka, and really knows Takuma true abilities...But loose-lips sink-ships.

I wonder...What if the ANBU observing Takuma during Takuma vs Mikoto Uchiha spar could be Itachi? I mean, the ANBU bypassed Fugaku Uchiha and he still active Jonin/Police Chief. That takes skill.
Also, I love that Fugaku still admires his wife skills and probably wants to spar/train with her again like before the they had kids...Maybe they might end up with third child out these 'sparing'/training sessions.

Mikoto Uchiha is a force and seasoned Jonin. She has figured out to use the Sharingan to the fullest potential for her without actually using it and her foot-work/taijutsu is great...It is very interesting given Mikoto is great with Genjutsu and Taijutsu, because they usually do not have Shinobi that are good at both.
