I was half expecting Eye 5 to be a gemini borg like William, just pretending to be unconscious.

"I had to sit seiza-style on the floor on a cushion in front of the table, which made me feel both slightly uncomfortable as well as underdressed."
I'm pretty sure the historical reason for sitting seiza is exactly because it's uncomfortable. It cuts off blood supply and can give pins and needles. The shogun made all his samurai sit like that so they couldn't get up quickly and cut his head off.

A cluster trigger with her own alt-self. I feel like the kiss kill dynamic would definitely lean towards KILL. Familiarity breeds contempt, opposites attract and like charges repel each other. Lucky they are separated.

Oof... This first chapter is 's so much bad fanon that I suspect you might only know about Worm from reading fanfics. You should read Worm, its a really good story.
1. A wasp nest is not killing Jack Slash. Not when the Siberian is next to him, and the bug controller is within slashing range. His power would either just make him swing wildly and accidentally hit Riley's neck, or make the Siberian touch him and make him invincible. Contessa is canonically the only parahuman who even has a chance to defeat Jack.
2. No regular civilian knows who the hell the Merchants are. And they know even less about the merchants' personal relationships.
3. Earth Gimel isn't a thing when Taylor triggers. That portal only opens up after the Echidna fight.
4. Taylor's personality here is just completely off. Literally every single line of dialogue is not something she would ever say.
