Dragging your future girlfriend with you into a sleep-deprived state isn't smart, Harry. However, she probably caught a hint of his protective streak regarding her. Nobody accused Zacharias of being smart but what's Hermione's excuse? Admittedly, she's more book smart rather than thinking-on-your-feet smart but still, she ignored warning signs. Also, the 'no magic in the hallways' warning is given every year. Obviously, Harry and Daphne aren't great at listening. I'm glad Harry is finally seeing that they need to be better, we'll see how they do on the execution.

So far, this is good writing, with one glaring error: unless you've got some AU going where Hogwarts starts much later in canon, these kids do NOT speak like credible twelve-year-olds.

I feel like Harry is becoming a if you don’t mind me doing the comparison a Darker James Potter. There is still Harry in there under all of it, but with him being around Daphne his confidence has skyrocketed, and with that he’s taken his education s lot more seriously than James and/or Sirius ever did with a more cruel streak when people piss him off. It’s about the same as when James would casually Jinx people except Harry would either curse you or watch you from afar in anticipation to what he’s going to do you next. McGonagall comparing Harry and Daphne to Merlin and Morgana is a perfect representation in to where the mindset is.. to become the very best.
Daphne as I believe someone compared her to Bellatrix in a way is as strong or even equal to Harry. Their bond has grown over the years they have come far. I’m glad that Harry being around her is able to at least recognize what she is doing is wrong.. and I do appreciate that she doesn’t care what anyone else thinks of her as long as Harry still has her back.. however (I’m glad you pointed this out in the chapter) she needs to calm down with the cruelty sometimes I’m like Damn Daphne I understand that these are small animals or whatnot but the path your going is very slippery don’t get me wrong Malfoy will always deserve what he got it’s just that if they keep going this path they’ll be child murderers lol even if Daphne didn’t realize she killed Pettigrew.
As someone else pointed out I feel sorry for Hermione if anything she is becoming annoying to Harry now because he’s started to find her overbearing and being to touchy you get it. Glad Smith got put in his place and again I’m appreciating the Harry/ Daphne relationship. Someone pointed out they don’t want Sirius to die.. I’m not going to hold you up

Ah yes the usual way to settle a disagreement. With a casual display of advanced and quite easily lethal elemental magic around a large group of students in the middle of the school hall way that turns a winter wonderland into a possible death trap. Harry then saying Daphne was the most modest person he knew had me almost falling out of my seat in laughter. A great chapter, I can’t wait to see what happens at hogs Meade if the head master doesn’t try to prevent Harry from going.

Awww, I really feel bad for Hermione. It’s so cute she likes Harry but kinda sad that it’s not reciprocated. And Harry falling asleep with burning Saemus is kinda disturbing, he should hang out a bit with the likes of Luna to mellow out a bit. Like, take a chill pill dude!

Just a little observation; you said the same thing twice in the second to last paragraph, the "associated with warmth and security" part.
Apart from that, fabulous chapter, as always. And I really loved the dangerous yet greatly whimsical fight.
