This was really good! Using the common ground of addiction to develop bother their characters was an idea I didn't anyone would come up with.
I think Gryla's character more common ground with Freya and Sif than Thor.
Faye, Kratos and Thor are all different takes on characters who are plagued by their failures. Faye has already learned the lesson, Kratos learns it in the story, and Thor doesn't (until the end at least).
Atreus, Angrboda and Odin are all takes on characters defying destiny.
Atreus already knows the lesson, Angrboda learns it in the story, and Odin doesn't learn it.
Sif, Freya and Gryla are all takes on mothers who should have been better.
Sif knows her mistakes killed Magni and Modi, Freya learns that her mistakes killed Baldur, and Gryla doesn't learn her mistakes have made Angrboda miserable.
