Loving the story! Definitely love how you meshed turn-of-the-century science with modern science. Great stuff! Also, even though you haven’t written it yet, or even if you intended to, it depends on which Radium’s isotope Alastair used in his machine and whether it had decayed enough to be safe or still very, very dangerous. (I worked with radiation for a few years in the US Navy, both gamma sources (Iridium and Cobalt) and xray for industrial purposes, examining metal for discontinuities that could cause failure of the material. Bad juju.). However, when he left, as you rightly stated, Madam Curie and other scientists hadn’t figured out isotopes, decay rates and how hazardous radioactivity was, or if they did, it was the bare beginnings, so it is unlikely Alastair knew which isotope he used.

Thank you for updating. What an amazing chapter! Fantastically written and I loved how u incorporated other historical events and his reasoning for keeping the chair hidden.

Quite the colorful character is our Alistair LOL! I actually like his theory that he was meant to time travel to the late ice age to help the people advance. The human race does seem to get these strange "boosts" in progress every now and then LOL!

Mr. Tuddleston, I presume? That body found in the ravine that Bella mentioned in the first chapter may not have been the inventor Alistair. Why couldn’t he be popping around, time traveling, even if one chair was still at his home? Also, Bella said the portrait eyes were creepy. LOL. I can’t help thinking that “Mayant-hattatar” reminds me of Mad Hatter.
Poor Ewar, he’s such a good -and hunky!- guy. And really, couldn’t Bella try learning some of his language? Ewar has proven that he learns quickly.
So sad that Oza/Rosalie attacked Bella. She may have been able to save the baby…
