This situation really makes me think of that fine line between who we are and what we might be. Erik has a traumatic history filled with experiences that shaped him in such a negative way. Yet, through Christine's acceptance, love, and exposure to so many new and positive experiences, can he evolve to a more confident and happier person? I would like to think so. Yet our wiring, past, and the desire to get to a better place all play their part. I love the thought of Erik and Christine this way!
