"I don't do relationships" such a foolish thought to have lived with. He didn't want "to leave someone in grief if something happened to him". They had a relationship anyway. Did he think not being married would make the hurt less upon his passing? They missed so much because of that foolish thought, at least they had what they did.

A very hard story to read as my husband died as a result of his last deployment. I have his flag in a case on top of my curio cabinet in my livingroom along with a picture of him in his dress uniform. He didn't leave a letter but my daughter and I got to talk to him the morning before he died. It's never easy being a military wife but those years I had with him I wouldn't trade for anything

Heart touching story. Completely believable coming from the character of Carlos we all know and love. Enough to draw sobs, even though he is not real. Great job

I shouldn't have read this. My husband died on his last deployment. My daughter and I were able to talk to him the night before he died. The last thing he told her was how much he loved her and was so proud of her. His last words to me was to always remember how much he loved and cherished me. It wasn't a letter, it was better than a letter
