I heard the reason that the Shinto faction never shows up is because Ichiei Ishibumi was afraid of offending people in Japan with any kind of depiction of the Shinto gods. Keep in mind, he has no problem what so ever of depicting foreign gods as perverts or nerds or total jerks, and that other writers in Japan have no trouble putting the Shinto gods in their stories.

Being a 16 year old for 17 years doesn't make a 16 year old either. The body has less to with maturity than time itself does. You keep me stuck at 16 years old for a dozen years and I'm going to be more experienced, more wise, more mature. Just because aging stops, doesn't mean maturity ceases.

The fact that he is letting himself be bossed around by a child does not give me a good vibe for this story. It would be far better to have a bunch of dumb kids think he's mean than to be known as the friend of a pervert. But that wouldn't be as "funny" I guess.
