Good writing better than the TPTB team were. This does make more sense. All of us at times see in someone we like from a distance and only see what we want to see, not what we really observe, so attribute things to that person that are not there. Why the Admiral lied! She knew that getting her younger self jealous of a relationship that wasn't happening was the only way to get what she wanted to get Voyager home. Even when the Admiral worked with Chakotay the jealousy was there in the Captain. He must have been rather puzzled about the references she made to him about him and Seven. Trouble with Janeway is that she never asks those involved she just assumes from what she sees, probably because it's what she fears most, loosing him to someone else. Great idea, thanks for writing.

Love it! Your version makes much more sense than Chakotay and Seven dating. I’d love to see how Chakotay mends fences with Janeway especially now that they’re back on Earth, nicely done!
