Also did you really hope RT to be authentic with treating their fictional culture? Not only it's fictional and as such doesn't have to be close copy of the original but they're also not japanese. Expecting them to put serious effort was totally foolish even back during Monty's days.

You do know that RWBY contained lots of little stuff that you may find stereotypical? That part of fun was that they "took" parts of other anime to mix together. Also ramen bars are almost as popular here in Houston as sushi. I mentioned these two type of dishes as most iconic Japanese especially in anime. I like the attempt at unmasking Weiss only for it to be a grim sighting. Very nice tension.

Weird, when I was stationed in Germany, transportation schedules were alot more strict. Then again, that was in the early 1990s fairly soon after unification. Maybe it's gone downhill trying to tie the eastern parts in.
So Weiss has decided to butt in. Bet bad luck gets her revealed.

About the ‘direct train route’, with how difficult it is to defend bridges from Grimm and how… extensive the underground city and train system were in Mountain Glenn, I’ve always assumed it was an underground rail system, one that goes beneath the seabed and provides… better defense against sea and air Grimm than an bridge. Still have to deal with burrowing Centinels and Cenitaurs, but no Nevermores or Sea Feilongs. Or at least that’s what I’ve always thought.
