Surely the kane anakin bond should slowly reform, given that neither are dead. Especially since kane is feeding it with the force as he keeps connected to it

The Katana fleet would be a prime way to start rearming Mandalor if he seized control. It's the fastest road to his own faction, hunting down Vizla for the Darksaber. By subjugating Deathwatch, he can turn them into more than the well trained bandits they became, make them act like proper soldiers. Use that as the basis to start gaining power amongst the clans. Overthrow the New Mandalorians, most importantly making sure Satine doesn't get to run to the Senate, or perhaps letting her, and using that as proof she was just a Senate stooge, on top of all the proof of her being dar'manda. Use after seizing control, he can reform the society to a more cultured military basis rather than the 'any fight's a good fight' of the ancient crusaders. He can claim to the Senate and Jedi that he aims for Mandalor to produce the finest soldiers in the Republic, and had no intention of ressurecting the old Crusades. Why would he when there are countless targets he can poin his men at? Pirates, slavers, other criminals, he can start making the Senate and Jedi look week and ineffective.
While they hang around in committee, the Mandalorians are putting boot to ass all over the galaxy. Hell he could use Naboo as a chance to further undermine the Senate and Jedi. When Padme's pleas go nowhere, the Mandalorians step in, show up and order the Federation to stand dow nor be treated as pirates. Naturally they refuse, and he attacks, explaining the whole deal as Mandalor regarding the invading Federation fleet as a clearly rogue element that was engaged in piracy. He can even claim the ships for himself if he plans ahead to board and seize control as part of his preparations. And setting up to claim the Katana fleet is a way to really accelerate the militarization of the Mandalorian sector.
There are a lot of options once he gets free, and he can use the Hutts and their criminal empires as the formost means of keeping his warriors happy while building experience in everything from small hits to small skirmashes to full fledged battles.

The dissonance between Khane and Anakin is beautifully captured.

I feel like some consequences for his total lack of impulse control and massive aggression problem was long overdue. Saying he cares for his family but stirring up trouble wherever he can just doesn't mesh too well.

great chapter.
i dont particularly like the dark direction kane is going in, i want him to be more solidly on the 'good' side of the line, but it seems you have other intentions. i guess you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelete though.
please give kane some light or hope, just an ember of benevolence for him to hold onto that peeks out every so often.
