I like this story. I dont like that its only chapter 14 and j started reading this a year ago. If you need to go on a hiatus please let us know…its just agonizing to wait literal months in between chapters while you introduce an interesting plot.

Anyway would expect Cloud to be a bit more cautious toward Blue given how he is aware that he is in a world where MCs could be very dangerous because they tend to have plot armor and such and Blue while not being Red is still dangerous because rivals tend to have plot armor and stuff but not to the same degree that MCs have and can have Pokémon evolving during battle that is almost common as Yugioh Kaiba summoning his Blue Eyes White Dragons during every duel.
At least he is going take it serious because he sure as heck didn’t expect Z moves and I suspect Cythnia is going get her wish, maybe she will stalk Cloud which would be funny as heck.

Everybody has different expectations from this tournament. It will be if cloud and cynthia battles in the finals. Maybe in the semis red and cloud can battle? Either way I'm loving it. Thanks for the update.

Just here hoping we see the MC actually get to Mega evolve someone besides Mewtwo. Partner Mega Chatot with Adaptability Boomburst mixed with a base 160 SpA would be quite terrifying.
