Are the memories not filtering to the SI all the way yet between Sirius and Remus? Those 2 literally thought each other was a spy for Voldemort. Remus had no idea who the actual secret keeper was.

I’m sorry, Arthur Weasley a honest man. it’s got to be a joke right? doesn’t anyone remember the World Cup? Arthur said he was able to get 10 tickets to the World Cup because he did Ludo a favour. One of Ludo’s relatives was in trouble with the law and Arthur was able to smooth it over.
Now think about that Ludo who is a gambler who tries to get as much money as he gave away 10 tickets to the World Cup. These are the kind of seats that the Malfoy could afford that has the wizarding minister and his guests sitting in. So the favour wasn’t a small one.
He’s also the blubbering idiot who didn’t realise for 12 years that he had a man hiding as a pet rat in his house. How moronic and incompetent of a wizard do you have to be to not realise that? His position as ahead of his department was not by being qualified but being the only pure blood that will take the job.
Throughout the books he clearly proved he didn’t really understand muggle technology or the basic knowledge of muggle money. Being interested in it and knowing what it is it two different things.
I will not deny that I find the Weasley creepy and suspicious. I just feel like they take advantage of a poor mentally damaged orphan boy whose desperate to make connections. If you read the books or even the movies by the order of the Phoenix, the Weasley parents only interrupted Harry for less than two months and they’re claiming that he’s part of their little family.

Assigning Moody to that is a genius move for another reason. people will be so concerned bout gettting their house in order for when Moody inevitably turns his attention their way that they won't be paying as close attention to whatever else Sirius is doing. even the ones who have done nothing wrong will fell nervous with Moody prowling about. and Moody will relish the chance to clean the Ministry up a bit that he'll resist any (unlikely) interference from Dumbledore, who is likely to back the notion fully. and Sirus is right, this and the law enforcement overhaul are easily explained actions with Sirus' history. almost predictable that the Ministry would go through a bit of purging and reorganization.
more likely srius would telll arthur to call him sirius in private. n public decorum matters, and arthur being told to be informal in private would further subtly bind arthur to him with the impression of a shared secret, however harmless the fact arthur calls the minister by his first name in private, it is still a tool that reinforces comradery.
He can probably use the fact she uses/has used blood magic against her, if only as a tool he has in his back pocket in case she pushes to hard. and since the purge will properly entrench him firmly nd will happen quickly, he'll be all the more well positioned to strongarm her if he needs to.
putting their criminals in goblin hands is a terrible idea. most criminals are minor offenders, are they going to use goblins for the drunk tank? for minor nuisances like mundungus? and what about prisoners with influential family? what's stopping the goblins from threatening or hurting prisoners that are essentially going to be hostages as well to make their families vote in the wizangamot the way goblins want? you specifically made clear these aren't the oppressed misunderstood honorable race so many authors use. nasty doesn't exactly lend itself very good confidence. paying goblins to build a new prison, or to overhaul azkaban perhaps would have been one thing. erhaps even stationing goblins there full time to maintain the place, but placing all those people in goblin custody way from any oversight?the public will think sirius is sending witches and wizards to be tortured by goblins. people are used to azkaban, it's an ingrained normality. this is new and scary. and in he event of a uture prisoner like Sirius, willl there be any hope? if goblins are paid by the prisoner numbers, will they pull anything to keep prisoners longer? there are so many problems with this. number one is the prisoners become hostages against their families that might have 'accidents' if the family doesn't do something for the goblins. ESPECIALLY families with businesses, ministry influence, or wizangamot votes/influence. say what you want about dementors, but useing their tenents as leverage on their families is beyond their capacity.
i think the best way for this to shake out would be to have the hole in the ground be unpassable, but perhaps overhauling azkaban with goblinwork would be a compromise, including having goblins be responsible for it upon completion besides a small group of wizards at intake. in the event of war or rebellion again in the future or abuse of the facility, it would still be assailable by the ministry, unlike what sirius is describing. after all, if the goblins build it where they are talking about, it basically becomes an unassailable fortress the goblins can use as a base in the event of conflict. No, the underground base is a terrible idea especially in the long run that is actually worse than the dementors for what the goblins now or in the future could use it for. if azkaban itself was replaced the bikity to assault the place if it was abused becomes more possible. and by making it a far better defended place it means the ministry can respond in time to any attempted incursions.

Great start to your story. I’ve always thought people who thought Andromeda would be against or even neutral to Dumbledore were fools. Her daughter joined his order. The order use their family home as a hub when rescuing Harry.
I’m also glad he’s not going to just ignore Minerva actions. Minerva is Dumbledore Bellatrix. I just hope this version of Sirius is smart enough not to trust Remus. Voldemort had Pettigrew and Dumbledore has Remus.

I wonder what Lady Zabini will ask for her favour - marriage alliance with a 'lesser' black, perhaps? There are those Sirius was looking to dispose of, after all.
Also, I can't help but wonder what would have happened if she voted Fudge - with an exactly even split, would they have called it a draw? or would it have simply been decided by the popular vote? In the latter case her vote would have changed nothing, as we all know who the public were voting for, so was it really that valuable?
