Should be called “Harry potter and Adults (and kids) are poorly written assholes”. Story is not for me, good luck but not at all what I was expecting.

Minor point: you break stuff not brake. I assumed he was angry at slow progress but I guess I'm wrong. I assume he is planning to obliviate Malfoy. Yule ball ought to be fun but might get Daphne dunked in the lake.

Well, let's hope so. You are writing it after all. What ff seems to ignore is that JKR wrote the series to encourage pre-teen readers' to read and use critical thinking, I don't think she ever imagined the direction her audience would take until after GoF and ff mushroomed adult interest in the series. By then her attempts to "adult" the series and still keep her initial audience in mind led to some pretty serious plot problems. I am not sure your apparent theory of "competent adults" include Papa Greengrass being better at "more corrupt" than Lucy Malfoy is a way out of the maze JKR created for her series. To my way of thinking it could lead to some pretty undesirable imprinting of expectable sexual behavior to a basically young teenage male (or female - Daphne, his own daughter) with little or no moral grounding to inter and be successful in a healthy society. Out snookering a child (Harry) on the dead snake in the "Chamber" isn't impressive on any level except corrupt. If Papa can't grasp Harry's distribution plan as a highly successful political move from the get-go it really puts his competence in question.

There was enough jumping around between short scenes that I was left a little puzzled. However, you figured how to reward Harry for learning an unforgivable so you get points for that. :)

When the wizarding government is so corrupt/incompetent, would you really want to bet your life on a logical outcome? I wouldn't.
Your story title had me encouraged but a more honest title might be conniving/greedy adults. Also, Slytherins ought to be insulted by their portrayal here. Cunning and ambitious doesn't require conning people - unless you're a career criminal.

I suppose your supposition “It perfectly logical” to send a person to any prison for life without a trial if you live in the USSR, UAR or affiliated Muslim countries, South and Central American banana republics, China, or any nation with no concept or respect of any sort for the individual charged with a capital offense. However, we are talking about Great Britain with full rights of the accused to confront his accusers. I do get a bit testy when ff writers think they can waive “magical whiffle dust” and set the concept back to the Middle Ages. While the Ministry of Magic is a separated governing body, they exist along side a highly developed government. To assume the rights of a recognized “Lords of the Realm” can be circumvented by “whiffle dust” sends this story to the “children’s fiction” category. The “T” rating you suggest would assume you are writing to someone more advance than a ten year old child. Not critiquing your story. Just pointing out your attempt at justification is not needed. It’s fanfiction. If that’s the way you want it, it’s your story. Just don’t contradict yourself.
