I am glad your back from your 3 and nearly half month break has proven fruitful with the posting of this new chapter taking place at the beginning of turning point 2. Glad that that Ghislaine was teleported with Aegir despite them not touching each other to the Conflict Zone. Interesting that Aegir’s hair color situation is like halfway between Sylphie’s pure white hair and Rudy with no white hair and has some white hair but mostly red hair still with some white hair acting kinda like high lights. Which many people probably will find it actually making Aegir more physically attractive.
In many ways the more I think of it Aegir’s hair probably looks similar to Shiro Emiya of the Fate verse or Natsu verse when he over uses his magic for proliong periods of time and permanently altering his hair white bit by bit until at least 1 versions hair as an adult in his 30’s was no longer red but pure white. Though currently he would look similar to Miyu’s Shiro in by the end of Fate/kaleid liner PRISMAILLYA: Vow in the Snow movie and the entire time he’s in this series Fate/kaleid liner PRISMAILLYA.
Interesting how in this time line Ghyslaine acts way differently than canon because Aegir 1 of the children of Philip was teleported with her and she makes sure her primary goal is to make sure Aegir survives. She isn’t probably as crazy when meeting that covert group of Markien Mercenary Company who in canon was looking for Eris and Rudy and from conjecture most people suspect she had found the dead bodies of Hilda and Philip. Which in this divergent timeline she has yet to find Aegir’s parents yet.
I do love the funny scene where Ghyslaine tells Aegir the blood on her is not hers, he says figured and that annoyed her in her stressed situation with his snark but probably deep down she knows it’s a good sign, since it shows he’s probably in decent overall help to be mostly his normal self. Good to learn from Ghislaine that the reason why Aegir was out for days unlike Sylphie or Rudy was because he was able to super charge a air advance tier spell to probably into saint tier spell getting rid of trees that would kill them and slow them down enough that Ghislaine was able to keep them alive.
Then the further divergence with Ghislaine making deal with the Markien forces in that she would help them win their battle to keep their nation alive and they in turn would help Ghislaine and Aegir any way the can from keeping unconsous Aegir in the capital and giving him medical treatment, to supplies for their return trip to Asura and safe travel in Marken lands. Despite these changes, Ghislaine will still be seen as heroic and maybe near mythical standing how she single handedly saved the Marken nation.
Good to see Aegir’s emergency travel bag which has his most important possessions kept safe like good amount of Asuran gold coins, magic items and his sighn of royal favor from Ariel. Though in reality Asuran gold coins should be able to be converted to local currency in the capital of Markien nation, if nothing else than a royal favor of its ruler. Its going to be weird if Aegir goes to Shirone Kingdom meets Rudy’s 2nd mother and his half sister there. I do hope you don’t have them meet at all or Zenoba. You have enough fish to fry without dealing with those butterfly effects on top of what’s happening from here on out.
I understand why Ghislaine wanted to get back to Asura Fittoa region ASAP but Aegir should have used his experience in royal court of Asura to convince Ghyslaine to meet with the king for a reward. They could have gotten decent amount of local currency which would have helped in their travels in the the Conflict Zone. Also maybe their’s a local adventures guild where they could send message back to the Asuran branch of it to say their alive and returning ASAP. They could easily afford it probably with the Asuran gold coins Aegir has or the King of Markien would gladly pay the cost for his nations heroine the Goddess of the Forest!
Well interesting way to end the chapter on a cliffhanger with Ghislaine catching the scent of Aegir’s parents. I do hope at least they will be able to save Hilda’s life and she is able to mostly recover from her trauma that will gives her PTSD. It would be nice if Hilda would get to see Eris eventually marrying Rudy and finding lasting happiness as a woman and unlike her be able to raise all of her children herself. I do hope if Philip does still die, that he will last long enough to tell his son on how to make the Roa aphrodisiac and have a chance to end their relationship with reconciling has father and son.
I do find it amusing how Zagras’s review of chapter 4 because he is totally underestimating Aegir. He doesn’t realize how strong Aegir is in Sword God style before turning point 1 compared to Rudy. He doesn’t understand how much combat and political experience Aegir has over Rudy. Doesn’t bother with Saint tier magic for at least combat related magic due to it being impractical in most battles between non monsters, especially for someone who ends up being able to master Sword of Light technique. Aegir if going into Saint Tier magic would be for healing and/or detoxification magic which would be very useful to have to heal great wounds, recently cut off limbs or illnesses. Barrier magic is a big maybe if nothing else due to Mills keeping a tight monopoly on it other than the lowest tiers of it.
Hopefully you don’t leave up this big cliff hanger on us for like another 3 months and 12 days or longer before chapter 19/18. Blast you SH for over inspiring me! Everything is great but MC is not very talented, he is above average in neither sword nor magic but not great. Rudeus could cast medium level spells at the age of 2, but he became a saint level wizard at the age of 5, he could easily cast silent spells after casting the spells only once. He could change the spell parameters as he wished and had an incredible magic capacity, I don't think MC could even reach the level of being his apprentice in any field of magic. MC can only reach the emperor level at most and for that he would have to be Rudeus' disciple.
He is not as skilled with the sword as Eris and other known sword users, he doesn't seem to have much potential. I wonder how he can reach a significant power.

While I think Ageir would have grown more from being on his own, this is cool too. Gislaine will be a good mentor if nothing else. i know this is fucked up but please let his parents be dead, things have gone too well for Aegir since a got reincarnated, not enough "Real World" experience. Harsh reality needs to smack this guy upside the head. Magic and swordsmanship have been little more than hobbies than a necessity, a lot like rudeas in that regard. Personality-wise, he's barely grown since he was born.
Anyway no matter where you take this cant wait to see more
While I think Ageir would have grown more from being on his own, this is cool too. Interesting in seeing that this is the chapter where turning point 1 happens. Interesting seeing that Aegir now having been at Roa for a year and is an A rank adventure now. Its nice seeing how Aegir’s presence affects Eris’s preparations of Rudy’s secret 10th birthday party. I do like how Eris explains how this BP needs to go prefect for Rudy and her adorable reaction when Aegir ruffles her hair.
I understand why Philip keeps on trying to get Aegir to go back on is deal with the head of the Boreas family but gets a bit tedious in this chapter especially later in this chapter. I do like how Aegir asks his mom to be easier on Rudeous because its not his fault that Aegir and Leo were forced to leave her and isn’t trying to take their place here.
I do like how Aegir has a healthier relationship with his mother Hilda, it maybe bit rough but Hilda at least is happy that 1 of her sons has returned to her and loves her. She may dislike Aegir’s dangerous profession but she has come to terms with that its what he’s passionate about and is very capable at it. I am glad that Aegir made the descion of staying at Roa until at least Eris has come of age being 15 years old and giving Hilda about 2 more years with him. I love the heartwarming scene where Hilda thanks her son for telling her that he will not leave her until Eris is an adult and in doing so blessing her with the gift of having him around longer.
Interesting that Aegir wasn’t sure if Rudy was actually surprised by the surprise 10th birthday party for him or if he just a good actor. I would think with how much time Aegir spent among nobles and Arial in Ars, he would be better at seeing through peoples masks. Yeah Aegir would be exasperated with his grandfather suddenly wanting to kill Pilemon Notos and put Rudy as the new head of the Notos. Poor Aeigr wanted his mom to stop hating Rudy for things he had nothing to do with, she does but then goes off the deep end in the other direction with wanting Eris to marry Rudy despite Eris was like 12 years old and Rudy is now 10 years old. I do love how Aegir like Rudy thinks Rudy’s new staff Aqua Heartia was ridicules name for it. It was hilarious how Aegir is exasperated with Eris saying the price of the staff doesn’t matter and he feared for her monetary sense in the future.
While was fine with Aegir and Philip having a passionate verbal argument but agree with other reviewers that Aegir getting physically violent with Philip trying to get Rudy become the next head of the Boreas’s was a bridge too far. Aegir forgets that noble families normally in our world in medevil times and in the world he now lives in that parents often arranged marriages for political reasons and that was the norm, not the exception. This single section to me of this chapter was the weakest part of the story so far.
I do like how Aegir feels tense being able to feel the mana building up before the TI, it helps build tension up for the story with 1 person suspecting some great clamaity maybe happening soon. Similar to how sometimes people can sense some disaster that for some reason that cant explained they know doom is coming soon. I do like how agitated Aegir gets by being right underneath the red orb that is floating in the sky and seems to have reached peak mana capacity. Interesting twist that Ghyslaine just about touched Aegir before the waves from the TI hit her and then him.
I am glad that Aegir is not being teleported with Rudy and Eris, this way it doesn’t get in the way of important character growth those 2 need and what he overall add wouldn’t be really much overall. I do hope with Ghyslaine nearly touching Aegir that means he will be teleported in the same general area as her. This way hopefully he is able to save Hilda and Philip or at least Hilda. It would be nice for Hilda to survive and see Eris eventually marry Rudy, have children and being very happy in marriage more than any other point in her life. Also I do hope that Aegir does somehow still get the recipe to make Fitoea’s famous aphrodisiac that in canon died with the creators of the it, Sauros and Philip Boreas Greyrat. Having someone start making this Fitoea’s famous aphrodisiac hasn’t been done yet on this site.
There has been 1 story that is supposedly leading to that but at the rate its getting updated, it will be like 2028 at the earliest that it happens if the story doesn’t die before that. This would also give Aegir an important source of revenue and power which help him in the long run and Ariel too. Well I do hope you eventually get continuing this great story after you have carefully plotted this story’s course to make sure it stay’s good quality writing, properly accounting how the butterfly effect of Aegir being around could effect so many things since the author of MT likes to layer things like an onion, layer on layer but also like a spider web with so many things seemingly at first glance not connected but later on you see how so many things actually are connected. As for the whole magic swordsman thing It all seems less useful then just being a swordsman. Rudy wasnt a badass because he could fire off massive climate changing spells. He could but what made him great was hia creativity with lower tear spells. Aegirs use of spells seems to be coating his sword in fire which has no practical use at all or lobbing a lame fireball randomly during a fight which is pretty useless. I was hoping to see him use magic in a way that boasted his swordsmanship. Something like using wind or air magic in a way that would boast his speed or possibly creating an electrical field to act as a sensory field. Hell even using earth magic to modify the field while he fights. Coating your sword in fire while you fight would do 2 things. 1. It would weaken your sword structurely 2. It would cauderize your opponent’s wounds to keep them from bleeding out. While it may look visually cool its hardly helpful. He really leaning hard into calling himself a magic swordsman but with his lackluster use of magic it just coming off more chuni then anything.

I think starting out having him concentrate on magic was a mistake; it only leads to comparison with Rudy and in the feild of magic the MC is severely lacking in comparison. I think it would have been better for him to soley focus on swordsmanship tbh. He essentially grew up in the sanctum for water god yet managed to succeed farther in swordgod which is a bit confusing. Was looking foward to how you ould handle the mana desaster but it seems the MC will just be a tag along for Rudy to the demon continent. Cant say his presence would really change anything at all from canon though. Eris and Rudy already had a great protecter in ruijerd so the MC being there wont really change anything. Cant really see it changing anything at all story wise. Think it my have been better to have the MC hang back with his parents during the desaster and teleport with them. He could have likely kept Hilda and Phillip alive through it. Dont get me wrong its been a great story I just dont see the MC making any real difference in the grand scheme of things. So far the only change to the cannon timeline is the MC himself. Think I prefer Rudeus to this Aegir MC for sure. Aegir is just so unimpressive in comparison. Cannon Rudy was a water saint and advanced in all other forms of attack magic at the age of 5. Hell he was intermediate at the age of 3 from a single magic book. Aegir has more resources and more access to things like magic tutors early on and yet accomplished much less. Hes 9 now and is less then Rudy was at the age of 4. You can argue that Aegir doesnt have the Laplace factor like Rudy did but all that means is he wont have Rudy’s near infinite magic reserves. He will be able to do something Rudy never could which is battle aura. Shoehorning in Ariel at this stage seems forced; flying under the radar snd essentially escaping should be his priority
Think I prefer Rudeus to this Aegir MC for sure. Aegir is just so unimpressive in comparison. Cannon Rudy was a water saint and advanced in all other forms of attack magic at the age of 5. Hell he was intermediate at the age of 3 from a single magic book. Aegir has more resources and more access to things like magic tutors early on and yet accomplished much less. Hes 9 now and is less then Rudy was at the age of 4. You can argue that Aegir doesnt have the Laplace factor like Rudy did but all that means is he wont have Rudy’s near infinite magic reserves. He will be able to do something Rudy never could which is battle aura. Shoehorning in Ariel at this stage seems forced; flying under the radar snd essentially escaping should be his priority

Man you certainly surprised me with Aegir's story it might very well be one of the most original and unique mushoku tensei fics out there, most just copy the very same plot with an extra brother tagging around and at first is acceptable but it becomes tiring really really fast. Here it feels Aegir truly has agency his own tale and not that of others, the arc growing up in Ars was brilliant actually bringing to the table Eris' brothers we have long forgotten(Rifujin himself might have cast them aside) or even James really that is truly a background character.
Of course I haven't always liked Aegir and his lack of political ambition but one learns to understand the character is all about being free, growing stronger and travelling the land, kinda pleasing and hypocritical too when he denounces Philip marrying Eris away when he basically has enounced his noble status and for many having a say in well any of the Boreas affairs it just felt as many others commented in the reviews that he himself doesn't understand how much he has renounced or the power Philip wields as their father. Still if you ask me it was cute imagining little Aegir pinning Philip to the wall intimidating him, that scene has nothing though to the one where he threatens James with his sword damn that moment was cool and honestly man you really showed restraint there which I understand for plot reasons but it would have been so pleasing having Aegir kill James and then make his escape. The political ramifications would have been terrible but damn if it wouldn't have been epic, almost asoiaf like, seeing the MC deal with the consequences of his actions even better, I get the direction you took for Aegir to go back to Roa and stay there to reconnect with his family but kinda disappointed you didn't dare to take the Aegir "The Exile" plot line with him becoming hunted down in his own kingdom making later visits to Asura more personal and who knows to the point Aegir has to destroy the kingdom as it is today if he wants to survive.
Also if you ask me Leonel was really underwhelming like he found happiness good for him and all but he was played like a fool by James, he completely lost his purpose and fight as he became older, old ambitions and feuds evaporated realising he didn't want anything of that, he is like an inverted Aegir both ending up walking vastly different paths people expected off. Damn man James got the gift of his life due to his content behaviour, with rivals like these feudal politics are a joke! Was really really disappointing in Leonel that he wasn't plotting all these years with Philip in the background for a takeover from James, that he went along and he was happy with the plot and the bride his uncle "threw at him" had me fuming Leonel "The Pawn" indeed. Madness and stupidity, the lack of ambition and even fighting spirit for the "family honor" leaves me feeling quite unsatisfied but guess this wasn't that kind of story still thought Leonel would have dragged Aegir into family politics in his bet to become the new head at the end that became a long lost dream.
Completely misread part of the brothers' arc in Ars, I know the fate of Sauros and Philip still has to play out and when James delivers his last strike both Leonel and Aegir will have to seek revenge and actually do something so perhaps we end up getting a reluctant Aegir being family head of the Boreas as we don't choose how life turns and twists that would be a total game changer.
Now however with canon in our doorstep hopefully Aegir keeps going with his own story and doesn't become overly reliable in Rudeus & Co, I trust your muse that you can keep things fresh enough for us dear writer, great job and despite the clash of expectations I truly enjoyed the story and will keep watching carefully for whatever comes next!

I do love how Phillp reveals to the family that Aegir has returned home. No surprise that Hilda would pounce on her long absent son and crying tears of joy being reunited with 1 of her sons! No surprise that Hilda would not approve of Aegir being a adventurer but no surprise that Sauros would easily see that Aegir is totally up to being 1 and is very strong for his age. I do love how Aegir is embarrassed with Sauros hold him up like a young child LOL!
I am not surprised that Eris would be totally confused by how her parents and grandfather are acting with this stranger and it takes Rudy to put it in a perspective she can understand. No surprise that Hilda would be pissed that her oldest son has basically married off to another branch of Greyrats but is somewhat appeased to her that Leonel is happy with his new family he is going to be married into. Poor Aegir getting nearly smothered by his mom and needs to be saved from her clutches by his crazy grandfather.
It was a good idea that Philip had in creating a cover story for Aegir by having created a new position of on hand adventurer for jobs the Borea’s of Roa need help with. This way he can stay near his family but with a good cover story to hid the fact that Aegir is with his immediate family. Then Sauros has a good point that Aegir can teach Eris somethings and he might even teach Rudy somethings too. I am not surprised that Eris would be already wanting to hear about her new brother’s adventures as an veteran adventure.
It was interesting to see how Aegir is not sure what to make of Rudy and how in some ways he is similar to Ariel. I do like how Aegir is planning on staying around Roa until Eris is 15 years old before leaving Roa. I am not surprised he tells Rudy that he wants to travel the world go to all of the contents and places other than the Divine Continent since it’s the only continent not mentioned by him. Well if he gets caught up in the teleportation incident, he will get a head start on his traveling the world but earlier than wanted. I do have how this chapter is total pain in the ass to access, often its hidden or you go to it, then it says its not a no longer active page. :( Keep up the great work Seiker Hikaru, till next time!

I am glad this chapter starts with a time skip of several months 2-3 months I am guessing. This way it speeds uo the story a bit but not too much. I do like how the beginning of the chapter is covering how Aegir is getting use to his new life in Roa, reunited with his parents, 1 of his grandfathers and the staff there. I do like how Aegir is smart enough to suspect that the increased monster activity in the Fitoa region has something to do with the mysterious red orb high in the sky, despite what Sarus and Philip says and does worry about it.
No surprise that Hilda did not approve Aegir being an adventurer due him getting injured but at the same time she should realize that this lifestyle her son has chosen is the reason why she can be with her son again! It gave him the ability to return to her, since he posses no threat to Jame’s sons political succession of the Boreas. Its sad that Phillip is being cold to his son due him probably due to both of his sons no longer in contention for succession but also that Aegir basically gave up being a Boreas but official is still 1 due to a certain princess. I am glad that Sauros is eager to know everything that is grandson has been up to and how Eris renforces this by wanting to know all of his adventures as an adventurer. No surprise that Eris’s parents would refuse to allow her to join Aegir on his monster hunting quests LOL!
I do like how Aegir is getting annoyed that his mind is no longer as malleable as it use to be to learn new things and is banging his head against the metaphorical wall trying to learn demon language. I do like how you have this ends up being a segway for Rudy and Aegir to start to bond over learning languages and how it ends up leading to Rudy talking the great virtues of his master, Master Roxy! Saying she has now become a king level water mage and she is the reason why he was able to over come his fear of the greater world outside of his parents property.
I do love how Aegir realizes he has heard of Roxy before and finds it amusing how the tavern tales of her at least had 1 thing wrong, that being she was an adult when she became A rank adventure due to her being a demon and demons usually are longer lived races than humans. No surprise that Rudy would say that any tales of Roxy don’t fully tell of how awesome she is but Aegir says it at least in someway probably has been exaggerated since tavern bards often do this. Its amusing how Rudy thinks that if Aegir gets to met Roxy he might try to make her his wife and Aegir says 9 year olds don’t get to call dibs on anything romantic related, especially when the other person is 4 or 5 years older than him! LOL!
I do like how Aegir becomes Eris’s main training partner in sword fighting since he’s fighting level is closer than Ghislaine and Rudy but also this way Eris can train against someone who has decent amount of experience as someone who has learned water god sword fighting. Which is very important skill for a Sword God practitioner to learn since SG is weak to WG. Nice to hear that Ghislane has learned some WG and NG to add to her skill set to give he an edge in fights. It was so adorable the level of blind faith Eris has in Ghislaine and no surprise that Ghislaine treasures this level of trust from someone she loves and sees having the potential of becoming a great swordswoman.
I do like how you Seiker Hikaru have a great scene where Aegir thinks about how much he has changed since getting reborn in this world and how little he thinks about his past life. I do like how this leads to him having a chat with his Grandfather Sauros about the mysterious red orb in the sky that has been in the same spot for years and slowly over time has been growing. It’s a nice scene where Sauros asks Aegir about what he thinks about since with his training in WG it gives him a better ability to detect and “read” the mana flow. Aegir says the red orb is like a lake that has rivers of mana being drawn to it and it seems to be getting close to the point it may burst.
I do like how in this verse it goes into detail that Sarus has been checking on the orb 1 time each month to keep an eye on it but doesn’t do anything about it due to it being so high in the sky that probably only someone with a flying fortress could deal with. Which leads to a funny scene with Aegir up to this point thought the whole flying fortress was a fairy tail and how this amuses his grandfather a lot! Nice touch with having Sauros noticing that Perugius seems to often check on the red orb, so if he is looking into it, that means he himself should not worry about it.
I do like how Aegir thinks about how he has and will escaped noble life for probably like 5 years or more but morely likely than not eventually Ariel will ask him to return to her. Since Aegir does basically own her a lot, so if she needs him to return to help her, he would be honor bound to do it, on top of him considering Ariel a true friend. Interesting twist in having Sauros warning Aegir to avoid the political machinations of his father who is likely planning on having Eris and Rudy marry and then try to have Rudy become the next head of the Boreas family. Not surprised that Aegir is annoyed that he has to be in this position and its weird how his grandfather is telling his grandson to watch out for his father’s plans.
Its interesting how Aegir has yet to realize that Rudy, like him was reincarnated in this world and has the mind of an adult. Interesting how this chapter ends with it less than a month from Rudy’s 10th birthday and then a day or 2 later is Teleportation Incident.
I ended up doing chapter 16/15 review before chapter 15/14 because FF was a butt to me. It allowed me to read it but then later that day when I when to review it, it was hidden from me and did stay hidden to me until March 2, 2025. I have noticed numerous FF stories in the last week or 2 having similar issues where chapters were either totally not accessible for me either on my smartphone or laptop computer or were you had to try several different ways until you were able to access the chapter. :( I will do a quick review on chapter 15/14 before moving on to chapter 17/16.
