This is weird. The story has 10 chapters, but opening chapter 1 the site lists only 7. From chapter 7 you can't go on to the next one, like it ends there. You have to go to chapter 2-6, those have the correct chapter list and jump from there directly to 8.

Seems the FFN database is seriously broken.

Great story. The mature themes are used tactfully (as Konosuba now allow) and you've managed to part of a story that stray from the normal sources people uses. Which is refreshing and makes for some intersting twist and turns. Looking forward to see how the new royal effect will have to narative.

I surprisingly got wrapped up in this. Checked it on a whim and couldn’t stop reading. This is very unique and a better story than I thought it would be.

I'm gonna be real, I absolutely love this story. I had no idea who Rin was until she made her brief appearance in the anime but she pretty much immediately became my favorite/second favorite character in Konosuba along with Chris. She's leaps and bounds more likeable and seems like genuine wife material more than any of the main girls. So thank you for pouring so much attention and work into what is a very niche and overlooked ship. I really hope this continues.

As for the fic itself, you write her and the rest of the characters extremely well. Something I've noticed with a lot of Konosuba fics is an amateurish over reliance on the over the top comedy and wackiness. While those elements are in the show, they are not the only thing in the show, and too many fics substitute actual good writing, dialogue, and character moments with low brow jokes and zanieness dialed up to 11. Yours absolutely does not do this. There is exactly the right amount of "Konosuba humor" to keep it entirely believable for the characters and show without becoming a caricature of itself.

Also, thank you for not making it yet another harem fic. And your approach to Rin's personality is absolutely top notch. I haven't read the spinoff LN about her and her party, but from what I saw of her cameos in the anime, you add in elements that I can absolutely believe are part of her real character. Even the horniness is done in a believable and non caricature way, which is refreshing. She's a great foil and partner to Kazuma as they're both kind of the only people with relatable common sense in the show. She has an air about her that she's self-aware that she exists in a wacky world and that most of it is silly and doesn't make any sense, a lot like Kazuma actually. I'd buy her also being from the real world as well. I don't think she is, but how she ended up being so normal while being born in Konosuba world is beyond me, but you capture it very well in your story. And I appreciate you walking the line between realistic sex and smutfic well. I don't usually go in for smut, and I like it a lot more when it's an organic element to the story. Like the story requires a sex scene because that's what the characters would really do in this instance and they go about it in ways that they probably really would. Kazuma and Rin are portrayed well here as believable young adults into each other and doing pretty much exactly what they probably really would. None of it is exaggerated for comedic effect, despite the intrinsic comedy of the show, and thus your story, itself. Sex scenes are the payoff for well laid emotional foundations. Even a character being kind of a slut/kinky type is better when it's a character element as part of a living breathing person and not just a trope. Rin's sort of 'eh fuck it, I don't mind being a whore, but just for you because I genuinely like you' sort of carefree but grounded attitude is believable as part of a real person and not just a made up 1 dimensional character.

Only real criticism I would make is to proofread names a little better. There's a lot of scenes where Rein, Rin, Rain, etc all show up in close proximity in writing, and I noticed several instance where you put the wrong name in by accident. Sucks that the original author decided to make so many names so similar, but it is what it is.

What a nice side story.

I feel for how Dust’s party is made of (mostly) normal people and how they struggle compared to the extremely lucky, OP and protagonist party of Kazuma.

I hope this is one of the happier side stories too.
