I'm catching up on the last few chapters and have some thoughts. While I did suspect the direction Esme's story was going to take, I do wish there had been some trigger warnings at the beginning of some chapters. Also, Esme's reaction to, and fear of, Kevin would have been much, much greater in past chapters, especially when alone together, considering he is her father's twin.

Lastly, I'm disappointed that Maxie's lash-out and her revelation of Esme's conception didn't result in any consequences - particularly from Felicia - but perhaps it was the timing. I'm hoping that now that the trial is over and Felicia recovers from her injury, that there will be severe fall-out and possibly even resentment (at least from Esme), as that would be more realistic than Felicia's "we're-a-family-and-need-to-stick-together" sentiment.

Now that the trial is over, I hope there will be more focus on the other mother/daughter pairings of the story as this has been a heavy turn of late.

I'm so glad that Esme isn't going to prison and that Felicia is going to be okay. I just hope Dex doesn't do any more damage before being caught.

Finally, they have the proof necessary to nail Dex. I can't wait for Spencer and Joss to realize that they were wrong about Esme. Of course, it would probably be too much to expect an apology or any expression of remorse. The fact that they would berate a young woman who just revealed that she had been sexually assaulted by her father says volumes about them. No doubt, Spencer will use this as an excuse to claim Ace and Joss will blame Esme for breaking up another relationship.

I feel bad for Kevin having to relive what his mother did to him and Ryan. Not only that, he can't be there for his niece because he looks just like her abuser. Fortunately, Laura is there to support him.

Dex is really getting desperate now. Unfortunately for him the evidence against him isn't just in Spinelli's laptop. Plus, Maxie arrived just in time to prevent him from killing Felicia.

I can't wait to read more.

Awe poor Esme. Her testimony was absolutely heartbreaking. Everything that she went through and to be manipulated and taken advantage of and abused by that monster just because she wanted her mother.

The end where Maxie finally seen the light and came to her mom ad sister's defense was the best. All Felicia was thinking about in that moment was taking care of her youngest daughter who had been traumatized far worse than any of the other victims were and the guard kept holding her back. To see Maxie finally see from Esme's testimony that she wasn't lying and how much Felicia loves her and to have Maxie defend them both in that moment speaks volumes.

I'm caught up again. Amazing two chapters. I was really angry at Maxie but I am happy that she has come around a bit. As devastating as Esme's testimony was, it may have been the only way for her to tell the truth. Hopefully the judge agrees or continues the trial.

Oh my God, that judge is such a bitch. Esme is clearly having a nervous breakdown and she won't call a brief recess because she doesn't want to stay any longer than she has to?! God forbid she do her actual job. Then, when Esme reveals that her father had been repeatedly raping her since she was 15, she says that Felicia is in contempt for trying to comfort her daughter?! I have a really bad feeling about what the judge's verdict will be.

One good thing is that Maxie came around. I loved seeing her stand up for her mother and sister and apologize to Esme.

I can't wait to see how everyone reacts to Esme's testimony. Personally, I think there should be a chapter dedicated entirely to everyone's reactions before going back to the action.

Wow that was an explosive chapter. I seriously hate Spencer all the more for recording Esme after Felicia told her that she was her mother and then the courts had the audacity to play that tape right then in front of everyone. That evidence did nothing but only prove that Esme remembers. The evidence that Spinelli found however proves that there was another suspect, Dex. And now I'm worried that Dex is going to do something since he now knows that Felicia and Spinelli are onto him since he already killed Maggie and he was in the courtroom when he heard the suspicion about him.

Awe Esme's letters to Felicia were heartbreaking especially the last one where she learned that Ryan did indeed abuses her and when they saw the latest clip from Spinelli, that definitely confirmed it. Ryan did to Esme what he did to Felicia and he is a sick, sick man manipulating his daughter just for the reason that she wanted her family.

And oh boy Maxie unloading on Esme when she was the most vulnerable right then and there in the bathroom even made me sick. And to even out that Felicia was raped by Ryan to Esme when Esme was not ready to hear that if she would ever be ready to hear it, it should have come from Felicia. I understand Maxie being mad at both Felici and Esme but to blow up at Esme right before she has to give her own testimony, poor Esme is not going to make it through that. :( Esme is also a victim just as much as Josslyn and Cameron and Trina were but no one else but Felicia can see that. I can't wait for the next follow up.

Wow. Those letters from Esme to her mommy were just heartbreaking, especially the one where she confirms that Ryan abused her. Then, she finds out that she's the result of rape? Poor Esme!

I know that Felicia wants to protect her daughter's privacy, but I get the feeling that the truth about Ryan's abuse will come out. I'd be interested in how Maxie will react to that.

You can definitely tell out of the 4 witnesses, the most hostile ones are Josslyn and Spencer. Spencer is definitely not innocent, he and Trina did play into Esme's jealousy by sneaking around and flirting while he was still in a relationship with Esme.

Nora is doing an excellent job of defending Esme and I can't wait to see the evidence that she has that will clear Esme or hopefully prove that she was set up. And I can't wait to see Felicia being called to the stand as Esme's character witness.

Awe I liked the conversation between Georgie and Esme and how Georgie invited her little sister to go the concert with her. She's still the same understanding and loving Georgie, that was in the wrong place at the wrong time when Diego attacked her and had to go through the hell that Victor put her through. She didn't deserve that just like Esme didn't deserve all the abuse that she got from her evil father.

I'm also glad that Esme was able to open up to Felicia a bit about the crimes that she is accused of. I knew there was more to the story and I believe her just like Felicia does.

Of course Maxie would sit on the prosecution side. But you can tell that Esme herself believes that she is not guilty, because even if she fantasized and thought about doing the crimes in question, there's a big difference in actually committing them. And I think Spinelli is close to uncovering the truth of who was behind all of this and framing Esme and I wander what Maxie would think that Spinelli is helping her mom keep Esme out of prison.

Awe I'm beginning to really like Esme and Emma's budding friendship. Their scene together with the kids at indoor playground was really sweet. And Emma telling her about how controlling Spencer was when he was a kid, he really hasn't changed much and has gotten even worse.

Awe the scene between mac and Georgie that Esme listened in on brought her back to her own scene with her father, but at least with Mac she can now see how a father should act with their kids. Mac is such a clear better example of a loving father than that psychopath who raped her mother.

Awe the stress of Esme's trial is eating into Felicia as much as Esme, she just wants to be there and protect her daughter and believe the best in her and of course she believes that she doesn't belong in prison. But of course Maxie eavesdropped out of context and only heard what she wanted to her to think the worst about Esme and of course she left before she heard Felicia tell Robin about Dex and his vendetta against Esme.

So Esme has apparently decided to take her chances with a trial. I hope that Felicia or someone can find evidence that will incriminate Dex and clear Esme. To be honest, I'm surprised that Esme is saying that she didn't do anything to Trina. I've been assuming that Dex found Esme and Ryan "together" and blackmailed her into doing all that stuff to Trina, Cam, and Joss. At any rate, I'm glad Esme has some people in her corner, and I'm glad that Kevin chose to support his niece.

Oh boy! What is typhoon Maxie going to do now? I hope Felicia and Spin can find something helpful before the hearing. Great update.

We can always count on Robin to be the voice of reason. Esme seeing Mac be a good dad to Georgie, and even Maxie and Cody, will show her that not all dads are abusive like Ryan. Hopefully, with time, she will allow Mac to be a dad to her too.
Trina seems to be the only level headed one of the group. I hope she finds new friends after this. Spencer and Josslyn's behavior actually tracks considering they were annoying and insufferable when they were children, it would stand to reason that those traits would only be magnified as young adults. I can't wait until it comes out that Dex is the one who did those vile things to them.

Awesome update. I am glad that Robin convinced Felicia not to have Mac move out right now. Most important is Esme sees what a real and loving Dad is like. Also, Felicia is right Esme and Georgie could help each other.

Cam and Trina were always the intelligent ones out of that quad of friends. What they were doing is akin to witness intimidation.

I really like Esme and Cody's pending sibling hood. I think they are good for each other. Loved that he would sacrifice his freedom if Esme goes to prison, to protect her.
