Best. Story. Ever. Spoilers ahead!
I cannot descibe the emotional ride that this fic took me on. The obsessive, all-consuming forbidden love of two high-school teens made me ache and yearn for their plight. The one-sided longing of a man desperately trying to bring back the memories of the woman he nearly lost, kind of broke my heart. But surprisingly, it was the real Edward, the Boss, born and raised in violence who broke me.
I've never been a big Mobward fan, but this Edward and Bella were gritty, raw, angry, and just, fated. They sacrificed so much for their families and both gave away the one thing they couldn't live without.
Edward's sacrifice left me in tears and Bella's tore me up. Chapter after chapter, I was left speechless, wanting to review every chapter but unable to find the words.
The writing was impeccable, brilliant, and so moving. I've never read a fanfic (great literature, yes) where every single word mattered. The style and grace of every sentence was a carefully crafted jewel.
I'm going to re-read this story immediately because I want to savor it, without the rush to find out what's next.

2/13 c1 what in tarnation
I have spent the entire day reading this. Yes, I did, I read the whole thing in a single day. Took me about 9 hours? I can’t imagine how long it took you to write this up, the labor, like birth. Like giving birth to a mob boss’s son, I bet.
This really took a turn. I did not read the oneshot version of this, I just jumped headlong in through the first chapter and next thing I know, I couldn’t put it down. I mean, after the whole episode of Bella having Vietnam War flashbacks in front of some rosebushes? That took a turn. I did not realize what I was getting myself into when I began but I really did enjoy it. I loved it so much. I’m speechless, so glad you didn’t drop this, and you gave us a good ending…. That’s rare.
I hope Garrett and his lady Doc are okay…
This was incredibly elaborate. How did you even plot this out? I’m really in awe. Your writing is incredible. Horrifying and had me sitting on the edge of my seat most of the time. The most consistent attribute of your characters is their inconsistency, and I loved it. The mystery, there is no clear psychoanalysis, just a bunch of psychos… and enjoyed it so much. I actually need some of your brain scans if they can help me figure out how you contrived this whole universe.

Edward had only ever killed one person with his own hands, right? He’s only ever killed Riley and so the deal with the alphabet agencies worked out? I love a man who would stab for me… I think that was his entire appeal, and you delivered.
