Jesus is a true friend to her. She's been completely supportive, and even at it's most intense, she never threw in the towel. It takes a true friend to be brutally honest sometimes. Now, what Bella does with that is up to her. I get that she's not used to this iteration of Edward. Perhaps she's not sure how she and Tommy would fit into his life on the island. But Jess is right.

I cannot fathom the elation, the relief and utter joy it must bring to see the believed-dead love of your life in front of your eyes again for the first time again after you've grieved his loss already, had his child and now finally found him at the end of the world! Plus, the anxiousness about a possible reunion, that could go all the wrong ways...*faints*

Oh interesting twist, Senior being a reluctant participant, desperately attempting a clean getaway with his family. Being forced back, letting his wife down. His misguided attempts to protect Edward, that turned Edward dark and resentful. Sounds like Edward rarely experienced love from his family, at least not from the Cullen men. Edward and Alice had an exit plan.
