Was kinda hoping Jaune would get a little character growth too, but oh well. Who knows, maybe its not too late and he gets some next chapter

I absolutely loved this chapter! It feels like we’ve finally hit the core of Cinder and Jaune’s relationship—where Cinder’s behavior fully aligns with that of an abuser, yet she doesn’t see herself that way. What makes it so compelling is that instead of playing the victim, she internalizes everything as her own fault, reinforcing the cycle. It’s heartbreaking but also terrifying because she’s so convinced that what she’s doing is right.
The moment with the collar was especially striking. Given her past, you'd think it would trigger something in her, yet instead of recognizing the parallel, she leans into it as a way to control Jaune. That really highlights how deeply ingrained her need for dominance is. I even thought, at first, that she was going to wear it as a sign of submission, but no—she wants to be the one holding the leash. It makes perfect sense with her character, but it also shows just how far she’s fallen into this twisted dynamic.
Jaune, on the other hand, is showing clear discomfort, and the fact that he keeps rationalizing her behavior or giving in to her emotional manipulation makes me worried for him. His hesitation at the end, his reluctance to fully return her “I love you,” and his sigh when he leaves all suggest that he’s starting to sense something is off. But will he act on it before it’s too late?
I really hope we see an intervention soon. Yang stepping in would make sense, and if Jaune is also planning one for Cinder, that could lead to an explosive confrontation. Her trauma is making her repeat the cycle, but without recognizing it, she’s justifying every step she takes. She thinks she’s making Jaune happy, but in reality, she’s suffocating him.
This was such a well-written chapter, and I can’t wait to see how this all unravels!

I can see this story either ending with:
Cinder dying during the events of Volume 3 and Jaune ends up with Pyrrha in the end.
The second is Pyrrha dies just like in Canon but unlike Canon Jaune and Cinder go from lovers to enemies where they both die in end in each others arms.
The third is just like the second but Cinder dies in the end and Jaune survives as he goes on his suffering ARC.
The fourth is that Jaune has a threesome with Cinder and Pyrrha.
Anyway enjoying the story so far.
