You were doing perfectly fine with things the way they were going. This mixing of the worlds is unnecessary and, in my opinion, ruins a perfectly good story. Not to mention it basically makes your OC, The Gatekeeper, uselessly incompetent at the one job you've invented him for. There was just no need for this

The most cliché story ever. The most basic harem, got to catch them all story ever. No buildup, no romance, just straight to “I love this person. I want to be their mate.” Ugh it’s pathetic.
