What a party! I loved the bubble game-of course Ginny won it-she has six older brothers to dodge! Harry's presents were really nice, too.
I prescribe a long, tall Firewhiskey for Snape when the party's over and all the guests have gone. And glad people know healing charms, because playground equipment sometimes fights back.
This was a great chapter, too.

Sounds like a great birthday party, with a delicious cake! I think it's even better than his eighth birthday as he has friends his own age now and inviting them over will help him feel part of the wizarding world a bit more. It's also good that he has older friends in that world who are happy to help out at a children's event.

Good to read some of Severus's perspective and yes, I can imagine he would be nervous about meeting Dora's parents given his reputation! Good to see they were more focused on her friendship with Harry as things may have become uncomfortable.. (Although he's probably had awkward experiences already, when they were visiting all those families last year..)
I like how they respect both worlds, with Dora being brought up with Muggle books etc.
We don't know much about Andromeda but I can see her taking an interest in some aspects of Muggle culture, perhaps as a way of leaving behind her narrow minded upbringing.

I would buy some Muggle earplugs just in case the Howlers could cancel the muffling charm...
And it might not be a bad idea to contact Narcissa and tell her about the invitation. She seemed to be a bit more rational than the rest of her family, and might be willing to do damage control with Lucius if he seemed upset.
Yeah, never buy school clothes till summer is over (my mother-in-law once bought school clothes in May. Bad idea. Very bad idea).
I am very happy that Severus was treated so well there at the Tonks household. He deserves, though he doesn't expect it.
I wonder if Dora showed up her face-changing ability? Harry would adore it.

Another lovely chapter, with lots of experiences for them to talk about during the winter months. I'm glad they didn't get too bored during the rainy day inside and that Harry was able to swim in the sea. Looking forward to their visit to the Tonks house!

This is Britain. There Will Be Rain. Clearly, Severus was well prepared, both for the super rainy day and the drizzly one. One thing I see in beach towns is an art gallery or two-but Harry might be bored in some places and frightened by some pieces. I wonder what magical art is like?

The water on the Pacific coast is mostly very cold-but the water of Waikiki Beach is *warm*! I don't know what the water is like on British beaches, though.

Another lovely experience for the two of them and something new for Harry, although I felt sorry for him at the end of his portkey journey... Severus is very caring and patient with him. I'm glad they're spending time together away from Hogwarts but maybe Harry could play with a few of the other kids for a while?
It sounds like a big house so the two of them will have plenty of fun - maybe a game of Hide and Seek over the rainy days?
