It was a tough road to happiness for Jane none of which was her fault, so I'm glad things worked out for her. Unfortunately, Richard got the sad ending he deserved. It left me feeling unsettled because I generally have a soft spot for his character, but he'll spring back in his next reincarnation. lol.

A note on your introduction: P&P doesn’t explicitly make Lady Catherine the heir of Rosings, it just says that it’s not entailed away from the female line. It’s more likely that Anne DeBourgh is the heir, and that Lady C. Is actually acting on behalf of Anne until she reaches either her majority, or until Anne receives her inheritance under the terms of the will (eg., at age 25). Anne is in the female line of the DeBourgh’s, Lady C is not. She’s just a spouse.

I am so glad Mary and Jane got HEAs.
I wonder if the Lord Matlock would have encouraged Richard to marry his sickly, wealthy cousin if he could have foreseen that Anne would live so many yrs and Richard would have no children for the Matlock line.
Rosings and Anne's wealth came at a high price.

Thank you very much for sharing and finishing this story. What a tale! I enjoyed how to adapted ODC’s story to your settings.

A v bit sad for Richard. Too bad he could not find an alternative source of fulfillment and meaning even within his marriage.
So glad the others all found their way to love and happiness.

Sad there is such a complicated relationship between sisters. Perhaps someday Jane will be able to reforge ties with her mother and sisters. I worry that Elizabeth not reaching out to her when in London will be seen as a rebuff by Jane and add to the estrangement.
