This was a fantastic read! I really enjoyed it. It kept me engaged from start to finish, and I found myself really drawn into the world you created. I’d love to hear more about your thoughts while writing this what inspired certain choices? Any behind-the-scenes details you’d like to share? Overall, this piece stands strong as it is, and I just wanted to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!.

Okay, real talk?
This is the first time I’ve ever dropped a review on someone else’s fic. I’m usually the one writing multiverse madness and yelling into the void.
But The White Wulf? Bro. I’ve had this fic on my radar for a while now—and after that last chapter? You caught me in 4K, emotionally invested and screaming for the next update.
The whole “Shirou-as-Hephaestus” thing? Absolute .
Like, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy that angle so much, but you nailed it. It’s got that perfect Fate energy: myth meets heartache, steel meets soul.
And now with the whole marriage-to-Aphrodite plotline heating up… oh man. I’ve got so many questions.
Not gonna lie, I was super curious about how you’d handle that dynamic. But you’re doing it in a way that’s earned. The build-up, the rewrites, the character voice—it all shows. I even went back and re-read the earlier chapters just to see how it all evolved.
And now that Aphrodite is actually in the story and not just a looming name? Yeah. This is the arc I’ve been hyped for. Give me divine drama. Give me emotions. Give me that awkward god-tier domestic tension.
Funny enough, I’m also working on a Fate x Percy Jackson crossover where Rin is Aphrodite’s daughter (long story lol), and I’ve had the exact same doubts about how to write her properly without making it weird or off-character—so let’s just say I’ve been taking mental notes like crazy.
Anyway, I just wanted to say—amazing job. I know how much goes into rewriting chapters and keeping momentum. You’ve crafted something bold and emotional, and I’m strapped in for wherever it’s headed. Can’t wait for the next update!
You’ve got a new fan, from one crossover gremlin to another. ️

Is there a way to change the reward cause I just don’t see the main character being who he is to Marry Aphrodite.

The Battle with Typhon was awesome. Hephaestus’s massive arsenal was a big help, especially the Anti-concept weapons that dealt extra damage to specific forms Typhon took. Unfortunately the beast eventually wised up and kept shifting its form to prevent Hephaestus from taking advantage of that. Luckily he and Zeus got back up from Artemis, Apollo, and Dionysus, with Athena lending her spear to Zeus. But it was still a close call as the more time passed, the more powerful Typhon grew. Plus Typhon’s power was designed to keep eating away at their divinity, so the gods grew weaker as time passed. So while Zeus would charge up for an all out attack, Hephaestus and the others would use hit and run attacks to distract Typhon. Hephaestus had even considered to use Unlimited Blade Works, but had to instead push Zeus out of the way of Typhon’s attack. After Hephaestus was gravely wounded, Zeus unleashed his final attack. And then Zeus called on the power of Tartarus to help in sealing Typhon away beneath the mountain made using the Island rubble.
As for Zeus, even after victory against Typhon he still had things left to address. After Typhon’s attack tore Hephaestus apart, a remnant of Typhon’s cursed divinity had infected Hephaestus’s core. So Zeus decided to infuse Hephaestus with his blood and divine noon to try and help fight off the tar-like divinity. Zeus’s attempt to heal Hephaestus even resulted in him entering the Reality Marble. There he was able to attack the corruption directly, removing all traces of it.
After Hephaestus’s condition was stabilized, Zeus left to confront his siblings. When they were weak and helpless in Kronos’ stomach, he risked everything to rescue them. But when he was weak and helpless, none of his siblings came to his rescue. This feeling of betrayal and abandonment made him both heartbroken and enraged. Made worse by the fact that none of his siblings even bothered to apologize, only giving excuses to justify their actions. And while there were those who did have a decent reason, like Hades being limited in manifesting in the mortal world or Aphrodite whose powers aren’t made for fighting, Zeus wasn’t really in the right mind to accept such things. Zeus was very close to losing himself to his anger, even going so far as to lash out at Ares when he tried to keep his father from doing something he’d regret. But then Zeus remembered what Hephaestus said to him before he passed out: Don’t be Kronos. At first Zeus was greatly angered at those words, but then he understood the true meaning of them. He almost spiraled into a the path of a viscous tyrant. His relationship with Hera and his siblings is still very tense, but at least it’s not at the point of them declaring war on each other.
And I’m interested to see how the mess with Hephaestus and Aphrodite plays out. I imagine Hephaestus will try to talk his way out of this, although I doubt it’ll do any good. Knowing Zeus, he’d probably treat any of Hephaestus’ attempts to politely decline as something as something like shyness or “pre-wedding jitters”. As for Aphrodite, she’s not really pleased with this arrangement. While she doesn’t have any issues with Hephaestus as a friend, she doesn’t like not choosing her partner herself. Hopefully Hephaestus and Aphrodite talk things out. Because I doubt Hephaestus will want things to play out like in the original myth. With Hephaestus ending up having a horrible relationship with Aphrodite and Ares. Anywho, I wish you good luck with your writing and I hope to see the next update soon.

Well. That was a development.
So while I can see that while a factor of the Typhon fight can appear disappointing to some, I'm alright with how it turned out.
The fight while a desperate spectacle, isn't meant to reach the heights it could have due to one: Typhon was newly-born and didn't have the time to ramp up.
Two: Heph was being cautious with what he showed even when he admitted later that it would have been better to be less reluctant to go all out.
Then three: Zeus had back up this time to give them the needed window to banish Typhon before they could ramp up into their canon threat level.
On that matter I did like how you presented Typhon here. Being newly-born, he didn't have a defined form and so you play into that to an eldritch degree in their endless form-sifting. I also like how you went conceptual with them continually shifting their 'monster/beast' traits.
Though I can see and understand the argument that generalized anti-monster NP's should have had a bit more effect, that can be waved at both for their divine nature, Gaia actively empowering them and Heph conserving their true strength.
I did like a bit of the combinations at play too. Heph invoking Artemis and Apollo and Zeus using Athena's enhanced symbol were nice touch's to the developing power balances in play.
-
Now we get into the star of the chapter: Zeus.
This was a very character-defining moment for them in many ways. The betrayal of his siblings showing the consequence of blind trust, with his children presenting the value of earned trust in turn. Then of course Heph's early actions and words being the things he needed NOT to got down a similar path to his father.
Zeus comes out of the battle with Typhon tempered and stronger for it as a result. Not the paranoid, ill-tempered and wounded-ego he came close to developing from canon. He got close for a bit, almost lashing out on impulse. Yet he doesn't. I'm actually dreading a smarter Zeus that funnels spite through screwed and subtle long-term plots, a not so healthy but notable alternative otherwise.
This then leads to the sort of lesson he comes out with: Not all blood is family. Its who you choose and stands by you in turn.
Case and point his award that saves Heph, while also getting back at Hera, by giving them the boon equivalent of a blood-adoption. Heph is now a recognized son of Zeus and now any slight against him puts them on Zeus's hitlist. He also gets to hang it over Hera's head that he knows that Heph has accomplished in weaving with the Reality Marble what Hera has long tried and failed to actualize.
-
Its going to be interesting to see how this will effect Heph in the long term. Especially the myths and syncretism that will unfold as a result given time. Other things too like what the boons the younger Olympians will get, alongside Heph's favor.
But the more things change; the more they stay the same. Case and point the upcoming wedding!
In canon and myth; the marriage was a ploy of Heph's revenge against Hera. Here though its an unintended reward of service!
Of course as a result Heph actually wants none of this, and is likely going to try his darndest to politely decline the marriage. With barring that letting Aphrodite quietly go and do what she wants without much real affection. While he respects her its a political marriage at most.
Its certainly going to be a bit fun to see what gets spun out from this with them though.
-
Finally to close up with the omake I've got nothing on guessing. Other then Heph potentially getting two more familiars and an NP that draws from his Demigod/Human-god nature.
I do like the idea of him being in a Grand carnival timeline with him, Archer and Muramasa just chilling and sharing smithing and weapon tips. No need for more. The imagery is enough.
-
So a pretty big and significant chapter overall. I'd even consider calling it a turning point!
Looking forward to more in the future.

this fic has consistently been a highlight to read. how you characterize everyone from zeus to athena to dionysus, how you write about divinity and the nature of gods, and now how you include aphrodite and heph's relationship? you've been cooking since you started but this is the most excited i've been! well done :)

Hephaestus does everything right, is on pretty good terms with the other younger gods, is more or less a hero at this point, and Zeus has to throw him a curve ball. At least in Zeus' defense, being married to Aphrodite is probably something that Zeus would have been happy about if he were in Hephaestus' shoes, but for this version of Hephaestus, not exactly something he was ready for, and right after he woke up to. Love it LOL
