This seems stupid. I could understand something like this for third or fourth years but not first years. First years are not even allowed to take missions on their own so putting them somewhere with no back up and way too many Grimm in the middle of nowhere does not seem like something Ozpin or Glynda would do. It's basically suicide if they run into bigger Grimm or an entire large group of them, especially all split up in twos like this. They are only 17 right now, too much would look way too bad for Beacon's reputation. Not to mention if Weiss was to die Beacon and Vale would basically be finished with no more Dust from the SDC. Also, if Ruby and Yang Died Qrow would likely quit as well.
