Excellent chapter. It showed the bereft feelings of both the family and friends. Cordelia's realization was a nice surprise.

Aww, I feel like it works, but I get it: we're our own worst critics. Well done. Keep it up.

RIP Red, now it's Jesse's turn to do some good. With Wills gone the SGC could use some comic relief. I want to see a Jello Demon set loose in the base. Jack would find that... disturbing... and Tealc would probably just eat some after they killed it. J/k lol.

If Cordelia starts taking self defense classes how long before all the Cordettes also start taking them? How many will reject Cordelia for involving herself with an 'outside' activity.
I would have to re-read the story as I don't know where you are in the Stargate story, but maybe jump ahead to where Buffy learns to fly?

You foreshadowed, no, outright lampshaded her coming death several times.
However, i predicted it before that, from your first warning.
You wouldn't have warned like that about Jesse, and you started early, meaning none of the later people, or even Cordelia, was likely.
Making Xander and Willow the primary candidates, but almost noone kills off Xander, he always gets special, preferential treatment, so Willow was by far the likeliest. As usual when a writer gives such a warning, it's usually Willow.
Which is also part of why i think it was a bad choice.
Wont stop me from reading, but it was disappointing to be correct.
Meanwhile, i can't recall if i have ever once seen even a single fic where Jesse and Willow survive but Xander does not.

Yes, you did suggest beforehand that it would be Willow. Taking her out of the story takes a lot more away than not having Buffy on the Hellmouth.
Just as well the team has access to sarcophagus, isn't it?

This story is a beautifully written yet heart wrenching piece that captures the essence of family, love, and impending tragedy. The author does an excellent job of portraying Jack O’Neill as a devoted father, highlighting the deep bond he shares with his children, Buffy and Charlie. The dialogue feels natural and heartfelt, showcasing the sibling dynamic with playful teasing and underlying affection.
The pacing is well executed, drawing the reader into a warm and loving household before delivering the gut-wrenching final line an ominous foreshadowing that instantly shifts the tone. This abrupt turn is what makes the story so powerful, it leaves the reader reeling, desperate to know what happens next.
Overall, this is a compelling and emotional read that masterfully balances warmth and impending sorrow. The contrast between the joy of family life and the impending tragedy is striking, making it a memorable and impactful piece.

Ooof. Poor Xander, Jesse, and Kendra. So heartbreaking. I get wanting to challenge yourself. I love it. Looking forward to see where you go with this.

Honestly I both like and dislike this change. Dislike because Willow can be great, but in the other hand at least this avoida the whole unreasonably powerful bullshit witch that she later became.

Arg so Jessie will die in this too I was hopeful that Cordelia was the one. Hopefully Kendra will die soon she had no personality. Faith was so much more interesting. Though maybe Zander can revive her too and there will be 3 slayers.
