wow. breathtaking. awesome. you. are. god. well, not really, but for now: you. are. god. yes. i do like sugar. could you tell? i love this. it's one of the best things i've ever written, and you may well have hooked me on lotr fics. i love merry and pippin. i love that you used stuff from the book, not just the movie like a ton of authors for this section do, since the movies came out. i'm not much better, i've only just started really getting into the fun world of middle earth. the movies started me off, but the books are better. they're both awesome, and so is your stuff. keep it up, i'm looking forward to more.

Oh my! Poor Merry. I really liked the stand off between him and Saruman. It really way a masterpiece...although like a masterpiece in an art gallery.
This whole fic up to this point, from the plot, to the way you've written the characters everything is just so tremendous which makes reading it so enjoyable!
I can't wait to read the next chapter!

Waahey! That was gold! I loved he flashback! It just tied in once again with the whole death thing. I'd really love to know how you do it! How do you keep coming up with such brilliant ideas!
The start made me so sad. I felt so sorry for poor little Merry, but the end of the chapter has made me hopeful!

So that was a bit strange...
Anyway I am a Pippin fan and I have a morbid sense of fun; I like it when bad things happen to my favorite character! Mwahahaha! Half the time they die. Then I am sad. Please don't kill anyone except Frodo because I don't like him.

What do you mean no action was in Chapter 4? It was totally like E.R. action!(no offense if you don't like E.R.) Personally, Pippin is my favorite character in both the movies and the books, and it's really cool to see that he isn't dead...

Merry's thoughts about the parellels between Saruman and Gandalf are exactly what I thought the first time I saw them together. (Okay, maybe I thought, "Hey! It's Count Dooku!" first, but that's beside the point.)
That book I read- I can't really remember what it was called. I think it was in a Ripley's Believe it or Not book.
I thought the first part of Into the West was being sung to Frodo, maybe by an elf while Frodo was onboard the ship and missing home, and that the second part was sung to Sam by Frodo. But that's just my interpretation. What's also hard to interpret is Gollum's Song. I thought the first bit was Smeagol, and then the second was Gollum.

i don't know if it's a misprint, but I ddidn't catch if Saruman broke into Merry's brain or not. 'Saruman's evil laughter filled his mind had he let go.' Is that AND he let go? I don't know. HELP!
