for The D Files: Dryden's Story

So strange that he would consider the Duke's impression of being cuckholded by the very man who would later be in a position to do the same to him. Even tho' he never found out who that man was...strange strange.

And I'm sorry to hear I won't get more chapters *woe* But I'm glad for what I have, I really enjoyed this. I enjoyed your OCs (obviously) and your take on young Fassa.

If you do ever decide to pick this back up again, I'll definitely be reading it :)

What the crap? Because other people can read the reviews, and I don't want to give anything away, let me just say "DAMMIT". After all that, I was LIKING her.

Eesh.

(Not that it will keep me from reading but I had to express my wholehearted "no fair!")

I just have to point out that I'm totally jiving with the D-man right now, because I too have a straight line deficiency. (At least, that's what I've named it. I'm passing it around.) My highschool bio teacher made me (and only me) submit only (!) computer generated graphs with my labwork and homework because she simply could not stand that it looked like I was trying to draw the leaning tower of piza on GRAPH paper..with a RULER.

Awesome. Glad it's not just me.

You're right, the Eries chapters are really good.

Of course, I read the rest of them to get here, and am looking forward to more.

(I see you say you have "Sylphy" and "Millerna" yet to go? Awesome. I love new stuff, even if it means I have to wait)

Back to my original thought, the really good bits: not just that she actually felt for Folken, which I was at odds with because she was so young, you took the maturity that was more-than-her-age of her series character and applied to her younger self, which is something I can't seem to do (I always go overboard) - and you hit it. Also, the way Dryden is to her here, makes it even easier to accept your Dryden/Eries fic. (Of course, I already admitted to being strangely swayed by your non-D/M ways O_o)

Will "Millerna" be the last, or are you going the route of your other fic and do a "repeat" of the Eries chapters? I am looking forward to reading "Millerna", for obvious reasons, and because one of you (hS?) said that you were a D/M fan anyway...

Bottom Line: Enjoying this :)

I think my favorite bit was Dryden mimicking his father with the "you will be the death of me". Supercute.

And I like Annette - for so long I was afraid of OCs because they so often turned out to be Mary Sues. But you guys and Aerika S. are giving me new hope, that not all OCs are to be feared in that way. Awesome.

Kinda wish I didn't have to go to work so I could read the rest...

Holy crap!

Heh. That's what I'm thinking... :-P

No! Its almost done? Aw. Good ride though.

Yay for reviewing for manga. ^_^

Can't wait for the next installment.

Poor Dryden. He receives some tough lessons on love and seems to take them to heart only we know he'll wind up later in a triangle himself. Irony's a pesky little bugger, isn't it?

Congrats on the review position, Sakura. Free manga = good. I'll have to keep an eye out for your reviews. Sad that you won't have time to write, but real life can be peskier than irony like that.

Extremely engaging. It's been a long time, so I've been able to sit down for a nice long read - and have found it very hard to tear myself away. The dialogue, especially in the later chapters is very realistic and flows quite naturally. The Indigo chapters were my favorite - I loved the fact that you used her inspiration for her own life to cause Dryden to take a look at his own. Now I want to go back and reread "Asturia".

I hope you someday find a chance to finish this - it complements your first story wonderfully and I just can't resist a good prequel. Keep letting me know when you update!

Yikes, Dryden can get snarly, can't he? Chewing out your bride of the future probably isn't the best way to deal with grief, but at least he's letting his emotions out (and Milly was being a brat). Hope Eries doesn't hurt him too much next time she sees him.

Has it been a year since your last post? Scary how time flies away from you. And by the way, my next post will be in the Esca section and it will be the story you've been waiting for. I've spent the last four days working on it and I've already spewed out 30 words, so neener. :p

Wow, I didn't excpect to see this ever updated, but I'm sure glad it was. I liked how you brought up Indigo again, she was a great character. Also, Dryden makes a fun narrator, as usual. Eries is so going to kill him.

Nice chapter please continue.

*Meows* ^_^ He!

Oh wow. Millie's being so annoying! And Dryden shouldn't've said all that... but I do understand how he felt.

Heh, vino. XD

Wow. Just... wow. That's all I can say about your fic at this point. It's so dang hard to find anything well written (as in, no one-lines, feeling in the sentences, detailed description without getting boring) and I found something. :) I saw your comments on Aerika S' Eries stories and when I saw that you were in her favorites, I figured your storied had to be good; because a good writer such as Aerika knows good work. ^_^

Anyway, I do hope you continue this, my attention has been caught and it's been FOREVER since I've found any decent Escaflowne fanfiction, let alone anything great; the latter that this fic certainly IS. :) I am off to read your other two fics now.

It's been a while, but I'm finally catching up to all my reading.

I love this story so very much. The last two chapters were so great. I loved the relationship between Dryden and Indigo. I cried at the end of the last part.

Thank you for writing such an engaging story.

Um. This one is...hard to write a review for. I mean, I'd read the reviews for 'First Kiss', so I knew that Indigo was going to die. But as I neared the end of this, I was sure it must happen in your other story, since this is a prequel. The end was drawing close, so there couldn't possibly be some final scene for something so important as a character death.

And there wasn't. Because this is Dryden's story, not Indigo's.

I don't think it would ever have occured to me to handle a character death like that.

One of the elements of my favorite stories is their ability to express the intensities of emotion, be that happiness or sorrow, pleasure or pain, and to make the reader share that emotion.

So I'll just say thank you.
