12 years later...damn that was quite the good story, I am unsure if it's finished or not still good job, even if you will probably not read that review

I don't get how Ranma is supposedly so far in the wrong. All he did was tell Ryoga that they were best friends and considering their other options...they were pretty much the closest thing the other 'had' to a friend. Sure Ryoga hated and blamed him for his problems, but besides claiming to be friends Ranma didn't actually lie to him about anything at all.

Long time no hear. I've started watching Ranma again recently, and so I of course had to come back and visit you. ;)
I must say that after an extended period and more mature eyes, your stories still hold up quite well. I'm just very glad that Ryoga got away from that group. You portray trauma and the misfortune of human behavior, denial, and rationalizing things away until later with sad realism.

I absolutely love this story. I love the way you've portrayed Ranma and Ryouga, both fleshed out believably but still recognisably them. You have kept Ranma's denseness and thoughtlessness perfectly, but also believably addressed other aspects (like loneliness and frustration) that don't get addressed much in the manga. I love your treatment of Ryouga (as I did in Heart of Glass) for his fragility, sensitivity and naivety, but also that bitter, angry side that you've also shown. And I particularly like your writing style - evocative and emotive - particularly for those flashback scenes and Ryouga's random flow-of-thought scenes. Wonderful!
Reading this fic (and Heart of Glass) was what actually inspired me to start writing fanfic myself, which goes to show just how much I enjoyed reading them. Thank you. :-)

This is great, I cant wait for you to continue. I think your right about the 'situation' with the alley. I'd atchually find it suprising if, him being lost and by himself at all ages, something like that diddnt even almost happen to him.
Putting you in my faivs list, keep up the good work!

Hi!
I read your story on your site and here, and I was wondering if there would be updates any time soon. It's too good a story to be abandonned like this. I like your view of the lost boy, a very realistic view that not many have of him. Though I think that The thug episode would have happened to him when he was younger, but not now. I know something about living on the street, lost or not, there are some things that you don't forget. Like ways to find food, honestly or not. I don't think Ryoga would go for harming anyone (I didn't and I'm not half the honourable person he is) but there are a lot of ways to get your belly filled (if not full) that don't hurt people but aren't very legal. But as a kid, it must've been quite hard.
It's admirable he turned out the way he did. Many weaker persons would've long since become like TarĂ´ or Kuno. It takes a strong heart to bear it and stay 'good'
Hope to read you soon.

P.S. I apologise for any errors you probably found in this text, English si not my mother tongue.

Hmm, interesting setup, I'd like to see how these "best friends" getalong in later chapters.
Great formatting, spelling and gramer, by the way, it makes it a very readable story.

This must be the second (or maybe even third) time I've read this fic (the first two were off your website). Purely by chance I stumble upon it once more, while on an unrelated search pattern, and spend a few hours just reading it - just enjoying the narrative and the dialogue. And the introspection! Aah. Deliciously done.
Then again, Firewind, you are perhaps the God of Ryouga Angst fanfiction.
