Oh, yeah. This is brilliantly written. I've read a lot of stories where I get lost in trying to pin down the details and continuity, but here I don't feel that way. The back story is THERE, even if it isn't written. You can feel it in every little shadow you don't quite see.

Your prose is amazing: Clear, succinct, to the point. The dialogue is as sharp as it should be between them. The set-up makes sense, you don't need a whole heap of backstory, it just *works*.
I'm quite out of words over this, to be honest.
