Only because of their status as tragic heroes.

Aww I'm happy to read a fic like this about the "other side" of GS...I see a lot of people view Isaac's side as "good" and then the proxians as "evil," which seems very misguided to me :( I found how Menardi was being comforting to Jenna very sweet and it threw my view of her into a different light :)

Wow... this is really nice. ^_^ I love the descriptions that you provided for Saturos and Menardi... it was a little confusing at first, but the imagery and oblique references to things from their past lives was really nice. This really gives us an inside kind of view on what Menardi and Saturos might have been like, portraying them as actual people instead of 'the bad guys' or 'the Proxians'. Great job!

Woah, I have not seen a fic from you for the LONGEST time... Kinda like how no one's seen anything out of me for the longest time. Lol. (An epilogue of Dark Heart was put up two days ago, about a year and a half after it was finished, heh)

My first review for a Golden Sun fic! YAY!
Ahem, anyways...
This was a very good one shot, and so far, it's the only Saturo/Menardi fic I've read so far. I, myself, like that pairing.
My favorite thing about this fic, is that you have portrayed Saturos and Menardi as something other than villains, since they technically aren't. You've also given them an interesting background and I particularly enjoyed how you described the changes their personalities went through when they became warriors.
