Me again! So since I read 'The Charmed Ones Are Evil' I suddenly am on a Charmed reading binge.
I'm also reviewing this as part of the Caesar's Palace Forum Review-a-thon (come check it out if interested, all fandoms welcome!).
So this was another piece I liked. It felt like you told a whole episode in this one piece, with a nice start, middle and conclusion.
Okay, so I feel the way that Piper immediately trusts Prue is too quick. I like that you make only Piper trust her and that Phoebe has doubts. This is something I can definitely see as Piper/Prue were always closer. So, in a way I can see why Piper may buy into the return of her sister more easily that Phoebe would. She took Prue's death the hardest and would do anything to have her back. I suppose just the possibility for her to just want to truly believe and accept her beloved sister had returned may make her not question it too much. So I take it back, I can see Piper believing Prue. But, I feel like Piper would immediately shout for Leo to explain. His absence was noted (I can't remember where he was in the show around this time, so he may not have been available).
I liked Paris's plan. It was clever and I like how you revealed the plan. When fake Prue accused Paris of wanting to steal the charmed ones power, for a second I thought that they had been duped by Paris too. I did like the ending and how Prue was exposed. Nicely done.
I'm glad you included Phoebe and her empath power. It worked well how you weaved her twinges of distrust and the bad feeling/vibe she sensed around Prue. This is very Phoebe-like and you represented that well.
Overall, a nice little piece to read. I liked reading about Prue, Piper and Phoebe while the existence of Paige was not discarded. It would be interesting though how all four would get along. I do wonder if the power of three would still work the same way. So only three of the four of them would be needed? That sure would make things easier for the girls to live their lives, giving them a bit more freedom. I wonder how Paige/Prue would get along... they might butt heads a lot. Also, I wonder how Prue's powers would have grown had she not died. Piper gets her blowing up power, Phoebe her levitation and empathic ability. Prue had her main ability and astral projection but as the strongest it would be interesting to see how she developed.
Are you still writing Charmed FanFiction? I see you last posted in 2004 and I know that 'The Charmed Ones Are Evil' was posted in 2017 but that was re-posted from before. I think you have a certain way with these characters that really gets into their heads. You portray them as they are, using interesting scenarios or events to convey a point. If you ever decide to do a longer length story do let me know as I would be definitely interested.
Also, just out of curiosity which pairing did you always root for in Charmed? I liked Prue/Andy, Phoebe/Cole and Piper/Leo.

Solid story of Prue's seeming return. (I only watched early episodes & never knew she died- very sad!)
Paris cleverly exposing her was well done. Good tension with Wyatt being a target, as well as Phoebe and Piper. And the mind reading backfiring was nice bit of writing. Great short story.

I wonder how that would all work as the power of three was a big part of the book of shadows, but the power of four,hmmmmm.
Well, it worked out in the end and for a few minutes there, I was getting anxious. Glad Paris figured her out though before she could do any real harm though.
