for An Aunt's Love

While I am LOVING the fact that Paul got through to Harry that what happened to Sirius was NOT his fault, I'm still mad as a wet hen that Harry is letting Voldemort dominate HIS dreams. Has no one ever told Harry that what goes on inside his own head is HIS domain and NOBODY can dominate him in there unless he LETS them? He can control his own dreams. He can control his own thoughts. He can control ANYTHING that happens INSIDE HIS OWN HEAD. I'd say it's past time someone pointed out that he has homeground advantage, don't you?

That was weird. Why did Paul ask who Snape was? Unless he's still pretending he hasn't spoken to Hermione? But hasn't Harry mentioned Snape to Paul already? I'm pretty sure he has... :(

Ha! Dumbles has NO idea he's playing into Petunia's hands. Which is weird, because Petunia also hates Harry. It's like somebody cast a spell on her to make her care about Harry. Did one of the Order do it? *curious*

Hey, does this mean Dumbles and Snape will also stay away from Hermione? I hope so!

Um, since Hermione knows where Harry is, all Snape or Dumbles have to do it pluck the information from her mind, because they make a habit of reading Harry's mind, why not hers? SHE didn't learn occlumancy.

That's sad. I was hoping they'd be able to help him there.

Snape is NOT a teacher, though. Putting instructions on the board and telling kids not to screw it up is in NO way teaching them anything. They'd do just as well or bad by relying on the book!

Yelling, "Clear your mind!" before mind raping Harry doesn't count as teaching him occumency either. Grrrrr

Love it! Hope you come back and finish this story soon. I can't wait to see how it ends!

This is a very interesting concept. But it is so out of character for her to actually care. I don’t know if I will like this or not. But I praise you for giving us an original idea or at least waiting for a good while to make it seem like your not repeating the same thing over like so many others do.

I LOVE this story -I have been following it for a few years. Are you still planning on finishing it?

I would love to see what happens next. I’ve just had the joy of spending the last few days rereading this, I hope you continue it.

This chapter really helped me right now. I felt like I also had therapy with Paul. Helped put my mind into perspective and lifted depressive thoughts. Might go back to this chapter often for that purpose. I don't usually review, but I would say that this fic, among others I've read this year, has a great storyline and substance. It was very well thought out and well researched. Kudos to the writer.

I'm quite frankly more prone to think dumbledore is more similar to the Emperor than Obi-Wan.

He DID put a child into a home he KNEW would makes his life painful and rough.

It may have been to ensure he was safe from Voldie, but if he had a house with fidilus charm -or had arabella raise him in france- that WOULD be equally as safe, and dumbledore is many things, but stupid is not one of them. He knew.

My guess is that he wanted the kid to lack attachments to the muggle world, and while he likely never admitted it to himself, he was well aware how easy it would be to make the kid attach himself to first Ron, then himself, because of the expected neglect. (And possible abuse.)

There isn't a chance in HELL that a magical family just "happened to be there" at the trainstation, breaking the stature of securety by yelling about "platform 9 and 3 quarters" and "muggles" when NO OTHER magical family passed through there. (Making me suspect everyone else either apparated, or more likely; use the floo directly to the train.) ... at the SAME time as Hagrid very conviniently "forgot" to tell a muggle-raised child how to get onto a magical platform.

He then withheld any and all information that could help the kid face the danger he was pushing said kid toward. (Even IF it was a misguided attempt to give the kid back the childhood he had stolen from him.)

And even tho he KNEW about horcruxes AND where some of them were, he didn't lift a finger to deal with them himself until Harry was pushed to be "ready for his destiny" -placing ALL his faith in the prophecy made by a woman KNOWN to lie her ass off and fake every prediction she made. (Not to mention... why the HELL did he do a job interview in a tavern? He DO have an office!)

There is also a thousand prophecy orbs in the Department of Mysteries, which mean that either...

1. MOST prophecies is about how someone will stub a toe or similar irrelevant shit.

Or

2. FEW prophecies are ever actually fufilled.

What are the odds of nr 1 even being considered worth storing?

And that's without the manipulative shit that have him withold info, IMPORTANT info, from Harry until such a point Harry has no choice BUT to do it.

Why didn't he tell Harry he had to die at age 11? Because no child with ANY sense would accept THAT.

But why did he nevet visot? Never tell Harry about magic BEFORE hogwarts, so he was prepared?

Arabella COULD have done it. But she didn't. Likely wasn't allowed.

It REEKS of manipulation.

The kind of shit the Emperor would pull.

Dumbles may be a quixotic fool trying to save the world... but like all great leaders he's a cold bastard when it comes to the need of the individual.

And Machiavellian enough to sacrifice a child to save a large number of others.

But it is his kind, soft heart that ensures he couldn't just kill the kid himself and spare it for suffering, but make it's life miserable enough that he WANTED to die.

The Emperor might just be nicer. At least HE'D just kill you.

Anyway...

LOVE this story!

I don't know if this is the end but it seriously could be... I don't want it to be though, because of the lack of an epilogue or Harry not actually being dead moment, should my feeling I have of this story's direction it's heading is truly right... I definitely hope you plan on continuing this the 1-3 chapters that's needed to be even more satisfactorily completed, and will be following this story, as well as favoriting it...

This story has kept me reading all afternoon and until almost 2 in the morning. I never expected it to take the turn it did, with Harry leaving therapy to become the young Dark Lord. I've really enjoyed the complexity you've put into Harry's character. You did a great job with the other main characters, too: Voldemort, especially, but Petunia and Dumbledore, too. It's been an amazing ride. I'd like to see an epilogue, though I realize it's been a year since the last update. This just doesn't feel complete. Even if it's just Harry and Breys (I think I got the name right) meeting again in the afterlife, I feel like I need some closure. But thanks for sharing your talents and you did an amazing job with this story. Which, by the way, is an AMAZING example of persistence-you might not realize it, but this story is 18 years old! THAT'S dedication!
