There are not many fics or books even with the name Astrid used:) I loved the African part, and the little bit of Dutch you managed to use.
My name is Astrid, Im Dutch and 17 years old xD
I loved all of this so far, I think if you changed the original names and used some new ones, you might be able to get it published:)
I've seen you didn't update in a while.. Maybe you don't read reviews, but whatever.. I liked it:)

Ha! I'm loving it! Just one observation - when they sight land and Astrid (or 'Jack') is up in the rigging, it would be nearly impossible for her to miss their approach and the land would be far more than a speck of green. At that height, on a clear day, visibility would stretch at least twenty miles. Indeed, the captain might not even approach any closer than a mile in the shallow waters of the Caribbean, with the draft of a frigate (as I suppose her to be). Sorry to nitpick; I tend to be touchy about nautical inaccuracies... it comes from being a mariner, myself. Otherwise, well done, (even if it DOES smack of Jacky's 'private lagoon' after the encounter with LeFievre) ;) Can't wait to read on!

In fact, I have missed Adam. It's great to see him in the story again. And hey, we even got a kiss out of it. Not bad for a day's work I'd say :)

Whoa baby! It's been a while since we've heard from ol' Adam eh? Wonder what he's doing in that neck of the woods? I don't know but I will surely tell you something, I'm still pulling for those two when all is said and done. I just did this recently and I'm afraid I have to do it again, borrow a quote from a movie that is, and say that they go together like peas and carrots. Nuff' said!
