It’s good, but you’re forgetting that Sirius was raised a Black. He should have more knowledge of the Dark Arts. Also, Remus said that Sirius and James were the smartest in their year. Not Lily.

I can always tell when it's a good story or a great story; a good story keeps me interested, a great story has me turning into a contortionist to prevent myself from attempting to hug the author through the computer. Your's fits the latter; at one point I had my arms crossed [left over right], right hand curled into a tight fist around my left hand's thumb and left hand's fingers splayed across my forehead. I believe, it was around chapter 8 or 9.
Chyeah. Pointless ramble.
Anyway.
