I love this! I responded particularly to the part "Kaiba doesn't say...under his left arm. Waiting" I just really think it captures his couldn't care less attitude. Also - I like how at the end you have Joey's mind wander a little (haha he often seems to have these lapses and I think you hit that well too). Anyway the plot is very different and I like where this is going. Write more!
