so, i really like your story so far, because i think your portrayal of elizabeth as a child is believable, if not a little too eccentric.
However, the thing that struck me in this chapter is when eliza says "that which does not kill you makes you stronger."
Actually, historically speaking, she couldn't have said that, considering that the phrase wasn't around until the 1830s, when Neitzche (sp?) said it.
Also, you have some of the ages mixed up, Darcy is eight years older than eliza, and eliza is five years older than lydia. Although I understand that you may have changed the ages up a bit so that it would fit your story line, i still wanted to point it out, because i'm anal re tentative like that ;)
anyway, kudos for the story so far. On with the story...

OMG. I'm just going to cry with this ending.
I just hope that as they're getting older, Darcy doesn't turn into an idiot to break Lizzie's heart with any other air headed "lady".
