"He would find Goku at sunrise...and kill him."
I was so amused at this line because Piccolo seems to have a one-track mind when it comes to Goku- "kill him, kill him, kill him..."
Your portrayal of Goku is so much deeper than the anime's. This Goku seems more contemplative. It is refreshing sometimes to read a fic in which Goku is not a bumbling idiot.
I was moved by the description of Goku's love for Chi-Chi, and the circumstances of Chi-Chi's death.

It's amazing how appealing Piccolo is as a villain; somehow, it's just hard to hate him-especially the way you portray him. You give Piccolo this subtle vulnerability that separates him from the truly evil villains like Frieza, who don't seem to care about anyone or anything but themselves.

I am particularly drawn to your original character, Kadari-especially thanks to Piccolosdragon's marvelous illustrations of him, which I still treasure. I currently have him as the background on my computer screen!
