I got so into this story I didn't realize it hadn't been finished in a while. I really liked what you have so far. Maybe if you come back one day to this I can read the rest :) lovely character development and world building!

I am on chapter 16, and I've read some of the comments about Leo. People asking why he is acting like Raph etc... I hate to sound mean but I feel like sometimes fans in this fandom think of the characters are stereotypes instead of living breathing people. People that have good days, or bad, people that experiences the same situation different at different periods. I think it only makes sense Leo has reached his 'limit' after months of being sidelined from what he feels is his duty as a leader and his enjoyed passtime. I don't think Splinter is being 'too strict'. He almost lost two children and in another sense two students. The father in him is terrified of that potential loss while the sensei in him is calculating the odds and outcomes. He feels that their eagerness might overshadow their logic and sense, and the sensei in him doesn't want them going out until they are completely healed. It just so happens that he is both father and sensei. I think Leo and Master Splinter are more alike than they realize which is why they are battling wills right now. I don't think Splinter is being too harsh with Leo, I actually think maybe he was too lax in the past and is realizing that his first born has some growing up to do. That being said, Mikey is a peach, Raph is showing character growth which is awesome in a story! Again I hate the sterotypes, and Don...oh Don, Don, Don, if only he would take what Mikey said to heart. Considering his passive aggressive way of dealing with his own fears over the loss of his brothers, we the reader get to experience his delight but also his sorrow at the thought. Don is truly a genius but not always with his emotions. Leo, I like this Leo. People forget that these characters/ hero's are just kids. Teenagers. They are mature beyond their years in some situations, fighting, strategy, etc, and yet without the proper upbringing of socialization with others outside their small family circle they lack in others. I see a Leo who is struggling with himself and in a balance of who I am and what I should be doing. That being said...getting spanked by Splinter in my humble opinion was hilarious. Boy does need humbled and apparently nothing else is working. Splinter really needs to sit down and take a few of them over his knee. Lay down the law and then when they are sincerely chastised let down his walls and just show them how their actions are causing him weariness on the verge of illness. The young don't realize sometimes how their words, actions, can physically effect someone.

I have a lot of free time! I hope this year you update, it is the 10th year anniversary of your story. If now, I will wait a couple years or months then re-read again...it's very enjoyable every time

damn, this was one of the best fics I've read. I'm disappointed with how Leo has been, but that could be due to the events from "The Exodus" and the recent tangle with Bishop.

Wow. That battle was intense. At least they got Splinter out of there and Leo didn't fight Karai. However, Baker is in the hands of the enemy, and they now have to get him and Victor out of there. I know it has been a long time since you revisited this story, but I will be patiently awaiting an update whenever inspiration strikes. I know how hard it can be to return to a story that's been left delayed. Take your time and don't rush. I'll be waiting here patiently.

Ah, those Foot idiots would rather argue than follow orders. Yeah, and look where that got them. I really liked the banter, though I was unclear about the Japanese sayings. Perhaps in the future if you use Japanese, would you be so kind as to translate it so that we know what the characters are saying? It's just a thought. I'm glad they got out of that scrap though. I liked Mikey's last line at the end. That was funny. Good job.

Ah, I love your characterization of Chaplin. As far as I know, they didn't give him a name at all, so what you have given him is good. I know that in one of my stories, I named him Brendan Chaplin just because of his hair and the fact that he looks Irish to me. He's just so hilarious with his enthusiasm when it comes to different things.
I loved the conversation with L.H. and Mikey. Leatherhead can understand where Mikey is coming from, yet even he doubts that Victor is alive.
And now Karai and the others are on the move. This isn't good for our guys, that's for sure. Nicely done on this chapter. I loved it.

Ah, Hun and Karai together again. I can see they don't trust each other, but they need each other to carry out their mission. And poor Mikey wanting Victor to be alive. He's just determined to not give up on his friend. It really makes me feel sad for him that he's doing this to himself. Nicely done.

Whoa. That was pretty intense, but at least they all got out of there. I like how you describe the "call" that Splinter feels and how he has to resist going back to his natural instincts. That's a nice touch. What is it with Don and popcorn? Maybe we should play a drinking game for the rest of the story and drink whenever Don is seen with popcorn. We'd probably get pretty drunk, wouldn't we?
And, yes, technically Leo didn't disobey Splinter, but he's still a naughty Turtle for going out there.
I loved April's last line the best. You don't want to mess with a fiery redhead like her. Great job on this.

Whoa. That was pretty creepy. I'm guessing the two shadows are Splinter and Leo, and I'm sure I'm right. I guess both of them will be grounded for this. But at least Mikey will get out alive and not be harmed. I loved Splinter's last line at the end there. That was funny. Great job on this.
