If Hermione was a transfiguration teacher she wouldn't have time to cure lycanthropy. You like nany other writers have grossly overestimated her intelligence. Also she wouldn't be able to since if something isn't in a book she can't do it.

Sometimes decisions have consequences. Luckily for Gabrielle, Harry is a stand up guy and responsible to boot.
I'm just sorry that everyone abandoned Gabrielle because of something that was not really her fault.

You know, this story, and this chapter in particular - make no sense in the context of Harry Potter universe. You'd think it was set in an ordinary backwater town school, in which case - why bother using Harry Potter as your backdrop ?
