Well depicted angst, nicely plotted to get one wondering about the history of Jack's injury and where WAS Sam when "all those times he’d called out her name in the dark"? Always love Sam and Teal'c friendship moments, this one works. Ready to "go to Part 2" soon as it's up! Great beginning.

Wow! Excellent set-up to the story. Has totally whetted my appetite! Lots of questions you've set up to be answered: where did Jack's injury come from? Why did Sam retire? Why is he so angry with her? Teal'c is obviously supporting her, so there's obviously a much deeper reason than just loyalty.
