This was a great story. I felt for poor Mikey who believed and yearned so much for what was clearly impossible, loved his enthusiasm and joy at the prospect even though it could only lead to heartache. So it was especially wonderful reading the epilogue set years later.
I only wish I could have read this story to let you know how much I enjoyed it and indeed needed such a story on a day like today while you were still around.

Wow, that was hilarious, sweet, and sad all rolled into one. Very nice. I feel bad for Mikey, he wanted so badly to believe that he was completely in denial. At least he has Shadow to dote on now :) Great story!

An awesome ending to an awesome story. I really enjoyed it and am glad that even though Mikey didn't get Machi, he did get Shadow and she is just as precious as Machi would have been. Mikey can still guide her and teach her just as he would have taught his little sister. Nicely done on this. I loved it.

Aww, I loved it when Splinter told Leo he was a good ani. That was sweet. But Mikey is definitely going to feel stupid and hurt when he finds out his brothers were right all along, though I hope Splinter will be able to comfort him and reassure him that his intentions were pure. Nicely done on this.

Ha, that was great, Cyn! I loved it and I see that Mikey just won't give up on this idea no matter what. I laughed when he saw the movie about Billy Crystal having a baby. I don't think I've seen that one, and I probably don't want to since it sounds pretty bad. Nicely done on this as always.
