I couldn't resist reading this even though it is rated M. However, I skipped the last part, which is where I thought the 'M' contents must be. But I think the rest of the story is well developed and suspenseful.
Oh, and is Empire Ithik a place that you invented? Or is it one of Mercedes' Lackey's countries in Velgarth? I've never heard of it before, so I thought I'd ask.

OMG! OMG! If you could see my face right now... That chapter was amazing in how real their reactions were to each. It's hard to imagine Alberich hurting anyone, especially in that way, but it made sense. Very good writing!
