Just got through rereading this story, still among my all-time favorite fanfictions in any fandom. Excellently written, compelling and you expertly hit all the right feels. I love this story so much, thanks for sharing your talent with us all!

Warren Peace (Steven Strait) had sole custody of his daughter, Audrey, ever since she was taken away from her mother, Laura Smith (Amanda Seyfried) when she was only 2 days old. Sole custody is when one parent has full custody of their child, often awarded in cases where the other parent is abusive or absent. In this case, Laura was deemed to be an unfit mother by the court because of her neglect towards her newborn daughter.

Really like how you handled Warren and Layla's discussion at the Paper Lantern and capping it off with his discussion with Joy was perfect, ( that whole talk with her was great )
Being clear that Warren's response to Layla was all him was a vital bit period, but I also like the way you communicated it. Putting it in Warren's conversation with his mom just added something to it... I wish I could explain .
I like how you're keeping the precise reasons/sources of Warren's perception of other's emotions etc. a little unknown. How much is his own nature / his childhood / mother's teaching or inheriting her powers ? We can't be sure , but that feels right.
The lunch table bit was hilarious , and nice work on the other small parts before the dance .
Joy's pre-dance intervention was great XD
The show down between Royal Pain /Will/Warren/Layla was nicely done , especially Warren's reaction to RP punching Will through the window , wanting to protect Layla and tactics going through his head.
Enjoyed his thought and feelings after the mess was sorted out to :)

You DO realize that 200 degrees farenheit is just shy of BOILING, right? . his sneaker soles should be melting like bubblegum, and he should be inflicting painful 2nd and 3rd degree burns on anyone who gets within handshake-range.
You were probably thinking body temperature of 40 degrees celsius or 110 farenheit- which is a fatal internal body temperature for a normal person... but not liable to broil anything that touches him.

The state Warren came home in was so good ! Exhaustion , emotions, the progression- it all felt very fitting and well put . Also I like how you're handling the " weirdly perceptive " side to his nature, the degrees of emotional awareness and maturity , those are all tricky but you've done them well.
Gosh I'm really loving his interactions with his mom ! I really loved how she talked him down and admitted her mistakes and the glimpse of her starting to reclaim herself .
Warren's view of her is very important as well , the pain and responsibility , protectiveness ,admiration and sadness he feels for her as a person is beautiful. Nice work on her powers too !
Nice job in general of smoothing out Warren's behavior transition from the cafeteria to later on.
I really like how you're handling his abilities , running his flames cooler in the game, the effects of his suffocating bout with Speed -and all the stuff you went into chapter one ! the variation in how pyro abilities might might manifest or be activated or controlled ...
So far so good :)

I usually find first person narrative style very difficult to appreciate , but this fic actually makes me forget what pov I'm reading . It is so easy to enjoy .
Joy and War's pain and struggle in his early childhood was so well expressed. I usually have a hard time when people write that kind of thing - even when relatively well written, somehow it just feels hollow . But this was so ... simple and poignant ... I actually got a little emotional.
The mother and child moments were handled beautifully and authentically ... that bit about their hair and him hiding just destroyed me ( in a good way ! )
Only the first chap and already the characters are looking very promising :)
Nice run down on Baron and Warren's powers . The prison piece in general was really good.
Going thru a lot of backstory at one time can easily turn into an info dump but I gotta say you did the history lesson well here . Also the attention you payed to well known scenes was refreshing - most people brush over these ( maybe in an effort to get to their own scenes ,or a fear it will bore the reader ? ) but the resulting blank spot in an otherwise detailed story can be jarring . You used them to go deeper into it and take a different look at it . Nice .
I Like how you enriched Warren's reasons for hating Will ( and the cafeteria fight ) as more than
just ' your dad jailed my dad '
Well , that's all I can manage for now, XP . Very nice chapter :)

I thought you might like to know that I have recommended this fic to so. Many. People. Anytime I talk to anyone about Sky High or fanfic in general, I tell them that the best fic I have ever read in my life is this one. I've read your story at least 3-4 times now, and every time I somehow love it more. This, my friend, is a masterpiece.

Okay, I’ve barely started this story, but I just had to say, I’m enjoying it so much already. It’s touching, goofy, and intense in turns, and everyone’s character is done so well. I can’t wait to read the rest!

Very interesting novel, thanks for making it Warren centered.

I really don't know what to say, other than this is one of the best stories I have ever read and one of the few fics out there that surpass published stories! I just love all the details, all the names, and history you included here. If there is a sequel rest assured that I will read and most likely love it. The internal struggles Warren when through were incredible and all the champions of justice were really fleshed out, even if their name is corny. Keep up the incredible work.

Okay so I like to leave off reviewing until I'm at the end of a story so I can take in the full scope, but so far this has just been SO GOOD and I would love to read it as a published work or even better see it in theaters and oh my god it's amazing I love the new takes on their powers! What really pushed me into reviewing NOW, though, was just quite simply the NAME. Warren Peace is Phoenix! I LOVE IT AND I LOVE YOU! ~Miracle Hope Solara
