K'beth I think, might be falling for Lystar. That would be great, cause Caliath would fly Rosith. That part of the story is great. The suspense is scary for Lystar I am sure, but my thought is it might be the Harper? Will he have thoughts of liking Lystar and make K'beth jealous or realize his feeling for Lystar?
Just a thought. I am enjoying to the max.

An excellent story. as for the moons, I don't know if Anne McCaffrey has said much about them, except that there're two. I do believe that there are times during the night when both aren't up, but I could be mistaken.

I love K'beth. I don't think he's too sweet. He's just the right amount of sweet. And yes, Pern has 2 moons. She mentions it at least in Dragondrums.

I'm thrilled to see another chapter of Lystar, and she's turning into just the person I hoped she would. I'm so glad you posted again and I can't wait for the next chapter. This is a wonderful story and I'm quite hooked on your characters!

I don't remember much about he movement of the two moons or if they've even named them, but I do know that just about everyone knows about the "Dawn Sisters".. three stars in the eastern sky that can be seen every morning just before sunrise. (these being the ships the Pernese settlers came to Pern in) I'll see if I can find the info on the moons and PM it to you...even if I have to reread everything up to All the Wyers again.
Love the chapter and K'beth is sweet and it's not hurting the realism at all (to me anyway). I truly like this story. It's one of the best Pernese fanfiction stories I've read. Keep up the great work and I'll see what I can find out about the moons for you. I have a good friend that turned me onto DoP...so he might know where I can find the references for you.

Not bad, i think that its actually pretty realistic. especially the thread-score part. well as real as perneese fiction can be ;). i think you should have K'beth find a way to heal her eye, and i can see that Caliath will probably fly Rosith(even tho greens can't clutch), hence the whole, "i know you more than you think" thing. good start, and i can't wait to see what happens!

I like it! There's nothing wrong with the depression, it's more realistic.
There's usually scarring around the eye (I wasn't clear on how she lost her vision and guessed it was a shard) and cloudiness that can be seen in the eye (unless she hit her head?).
I like how you've set the story up and I think you've got good character descriptions (enough to give us an idea, little enough to let us do our own thing).

You know, I not fed up with Lystar's depression; I am just a little surprised that Caliath is tolerating it. You know how self centered and egotistical that dragons are, in a good way.
Yes, she does need to come clean about her eye as well, and then maybe K'beth can help her work thru that as well. She may never be a thread fighting machine, but Caliath will not allow her to be worthless I am sure. I think.
I am enjoying it a lot and will look forward to more updates.

Ista is a good choice. It's one of the most underused weyrs in Pern.
You've written the dragons very well. The only part I'm a little unsure about is Rosith not remembering being told the first time about Z'kas, but being a green and perhaps one of the dragons who feels time-Betweening a bit more...it still works.
