I assume he found out about his wife and her 'social encounters' and suddenly felt lifeless and hurt, angry or whatever. So, without thinking, he killed Veronica. And then, he snapped out of it and felt guilty. So he dumped her in the... water. And now, he's afraid of Luke so he tries to kill him. Derp.

I kinda laughed at Tear's last words. Because, you know, if Luke died she wouldn't be able to kill him. Or if Luke had intentions of dying and Tear killed him, that'd defeat the purose of trying to not make him die, you know? :D
